Mehmet Yeşi̇lkaya wins Security Services Organisation Association award

Mehmet Yeşi̇lkaya celebrated for saving a life

It started as an ordinary evening for Mehmet Yeşi̇lkaya who was working a night shift at a hospital in Türkiye. As he was patrolling the property, he noticed traces of blood on the ground. His training kicked in and he responded immediately, following the drops all the way back to a WC.

On entering, he found a patient unconscious on the floor and raised the alarm. Nurses and medics rushed to the scene and found that the patient had removed their vascular access device and was bleeding heavily. They were able to stabilise the patient and return his to his ward to continue his treatment and recovery.

However, without Mehmet’s swift action, the outcome could have been very different. Mehmet saved a life that evening. It was for this reason that Mehmet was celebrated at Türkiye’s Security Services Organisation Association Awards.

From security patrols to Star of Private Security Awards

Mehmet had been working as a Security Guard for just five years when he received the prestigious Security Services Organisation Association award.

He was nominated for the actions that saved the life of a patient in the hospital he was patrolling. It is a good example of how G4S Security personnel often face the unexpected at work and how their decisions have the potential to be life-saving.

When praising Mehmet and his fellow award-winning colleague, G4S Türkiye Managing Director Kağan Gümüş said: “These valuable security professionals, each of whom is appreciated for their performance, work day and night with great dedication for the people they protect.”
