MULTI SKILLED ENGINEER (ELECTRICAL BIAS)

 

Salary: £59,069.52 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, 4 on 4 off shift pattern (6am - 6pm)

Location: Hinkley Point C, Bridgwater, TA5 1UD

 

G4S Facilities Management are looking for a dedicated Multi-Skilled Engineer with an electrical bias for a full-time, permanent position. This is a distinctive opportunity to join our team at Hinkley Point C, located in Bridgwater.

 

We are looking for a fully qualified and experienced 18th Edition Electrical Engineer, this is a predominantly static role, with occasional mobile requirements across a range of sites to maintain and repair electrical installations and assets, building fabric, services and estate.

The position is ideal for someone who works well as part of a team and takes pride in their work, you will be G4S representative on-site so good communications skills and customer relations is essential. 

 

Core Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections, fault diagnosis, and repairs across M&E assets, including heating, water, ventilation, electrical, and security systems.</p>

  • Execute PPM schedules and minor electrical installations safely using technical drawings and O&M manuals.</p>

  • Safely resolve asset breakdowns and damage, participating in the site’s emergency call-out rota.

  • Operate on a fixed-site basis as required to support minor project delivery or provide absence cover for site managers and engineers.

  • Produce clear technical reports and procedural updates for all building maintenance activities.

  • Collaborate with skilled and semi-skilled colleagues to promote knowledge-sharing and team cross-skilling.

 


Essential

  • Must hold or be eligible for an ECS gold card with “electrician” JIB grade as a minimum.

  • Experience of building and facilities maintenance.

  • Min quals: Level 3 Electrotechnical - Theory or Level 3 Electrical Insulation plus 18th Edition – Level 3 (BS 7671:2018)

  • Full, clean driving licence

  • Target Qualification: Level 3 Initial verification / Level 3 periodic inspection & testing</p>

 

Desirable

  • IPAF (MEWP operator) and PASMA (mobile scaffold towers) tickets.

  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across both single-phase and 3-phase electrical systems. 

  • Experience with carrying out electrical installation condition reports (EICRs).

  • Sound working knowledge of emergency lighting standards (BS 5266).

  • CompEx 01-04 certified (explosive/hazardous atmosphere environments).
