The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for an Administrative Intern. In this position, you will be responsible for the overall process of answering multiple phone lines, filing, and assisting where necessary, as well as providing assistance with Human Resources functions and other administrative aspects of the area/branch office. You will provide administrative support to the Area/Branch/Satellite office and act as a liaison with field supervision/management and security personnel. You learn and assist with ensuring compliance with corporate policies and applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Assist in selection and placement process (e.g., prepare application packets, hire packets, schedule interviews and pre/post-employment training, enter data in the Human Resources Information System [HRIS])
  • Filing and maintenance of non-overhead personnel documents
  • Assist management with recruiting, selection, and placement processes
  • Other duties as needed to ensure smooth operations of administrative and human resources related matters
  • Assist Operations staff with contract compliance, site surveys, and site inspections

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have completed at least two semesters of college education
  • Must be a current undergraduate or graduate student attending an institution of higher learning in the U.S., or have graduated from a qualifying program within one year of beginning the internship
  • Must have a declared major, minor, or concentration in one of more of the following: private security, criminal justice, or a field associated with human resources or personnel management

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • If previously employed, meaningful and verifiable work history

Skills Required

  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
