Military Veterans

Important announcement from Drew Levine in honor of Veterans Day The United States pays tribute to those who served in the Armed Forces. Around the country, ceremonies, parades, receptions, fundraisers and other events will salute the immeasurable contributions veterans have made to ensure our freedoms and prosperity. To me, every day is Veterans Day at G4S because more than 26 percent of our employees are veterans, and I am proud that I work for a company that continues to be recognized for its commitment to hiring former military personnel and members of the National Guard and Reserves. I won’t get into the details of those awards because this day is not about a plaque on the wall or a trophy in a case. This day is about the men and woman who put their lives on the line, served their country and gave of themselves in a big way. Can you imagine swimming toward Omaha Beach on D-Day? Can you see yourself at the epic Vietnam Battle of la Drang Valley? Can you imagine returning from duty in the Middle East with little fanfare but plenty of troubling memories? Can you see yourself dedicating your adult life to our Armed Forces and accepting your mission regardless of desire? Our country is blessed to have men and women who gave a resounding “yes” to these questions. Veterans Day is our opportunity to give these men and women the recognition, respect, applause and love they deserve. To the G4S employees who carry the impressive title of “Veteran,” I deliver a sincere thank you on behalf of your entire G4S family. May God bless you, our entire G4S family and our stakeholders. Drew Levine President, of G4S North America.

We want to thank all military veterans for their service to the country, and in honor of that service we want to welcome you back in the best way we can … with a career where your skills are incredibly useful. Our relationship with the U.S. military is both valued and nurtured by everyone at G4S. For example, we assisted the U.S. Navy by participating in a review of the basic training curriculum for the Master-at-Arms (MA) rating. This program provides comprehensive training to individuals in security and law enforcement roles in the Navy and prepares them for transfer to such roles in the civilian sector. G4S is also a sponsor for the Master-at-Arms rating through the U.S. Military Apprenticeship Program (USMAP). G4S also helps veterans through the following initiatives: Partnering with U.S Army’s Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS) program, which provides America’s youth with an opportunity to serve their country while they prepare for their future. Participating in job fairs sponsored by RecruitMilitary, a nationwide, full-service military-to-civilian recruiting firm. Connecting with transitioning and former military personnel through Corporate Gray. This organization supports veterans with military-to-civilian career transition books, military-friendly job fairs and online support. As member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce initiative Hiring Our Heroes, we are committed to helping veterans and military spouses find meaningful employment. This program is in place in our hundreds of local offices where veterans and military families return every day. As you can see, it doesn’t get much better than G4S for military veterans when it comes to finding a new job or career.
