Salary: £25,235.42 per annum

Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week

At Oakhill Secure Training Centre we look after young people aged 12 to 18 years old who have been remanded or sentenced to periods of detention. The vulnerable young people in our care can be challenging with a wide range of social and emotional complex needs. This is an environment that calls for high standards of social care and service delivery to provide a secure and stable environment for young people to develop their life skills and address the behaviours that have led them into custody.

Oakhill Secure Training Centre works closely with the Youth Custody Services to ensure that its regimes and designs reflect best practice in residential care to prevent offending.

We are looking for an organised and experienced Administrator to join our Safety Team at Oakhill Secure Training Centre. With excellent administration and organisational skills the successful candidate will provide an effective and efficient administration service to the Safety Team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Regular minute taking for processes that sit under the Safety function, ensuring actions are sending actions to relevant owners and followed up to undertake .
  • Working with the teams that sit under ‘Safety’ to support recording of information and logging on appropriate databases. 
  • Undertake audits on relevant processes behalf of the Head of Safety.
  • Compliance log submission to the audit and compliance team. 
  • Support the Senior Safety manager by recording relevant SASH information.
  • Preparing Ofsted evidence for the safety team.
  • Creating and managing documents.
  • Filing and Archiving
  • Creating documents using software such as Canva and Google docs. 
  • Preparing and collating data to support relevant senior managers. 
  • Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture across the site leading by example, this includes reporting accidents and near misses in a timely manner & following the applicable safe systems of work for the role.


The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent organisation skills. 
  • Ability to use Google work applications including sheets, documents and slides.
  • Communication skills
  • Data Entry
  • Attention to detail
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Deadline driven

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Understand and interpret data.
  • Ability to   use Google sheet formulas. 
  • Understanding of the custodial environment.
