SIA DS Security Staff, Co-Op Arena, Manchester
Casual Contract | Flexible Shifts | Great Events | Great People
Pay Rate: £14.04 - £15.45 per hour (dependent on role)
Enjoy the buzz of a busy venue and being part of the action? Want to put your experience, judgement and people skills to work without committing to a full-time role?
We’re looking for confident, highly capable SIA Door Supervisor holders to join our team at the Co-Op Arena, Manchester on a flexible casual contract, with a view to progressing into a supervisory role for those who can demonstrate previous experience within the security industry or other relevant sector.
Your experience matters
If you have spent your career leading high-stakes operations, your core strengths translate directly to the fast-paced demands of modern venue security. We place high value on elite operational expertise, particularly rapid situational assessment, operational risk management, and decisive response coordination under pressure.
Whether you are accustomed to directing complex team responses or overseeing safety and security in high-footfall, dynamic environments, we offer a role where your professional rigor, strategic judgment, and authoritative leadership directly safeguard thousands of guests and elevate the overall event experience at the Co-Op Arena.
Why the Co-Op Arena?
The Co-Op Arena is the largest indoor ‘music first’ arena in the UK and one of the most exciting entertainment destinations, with no two shifts being quite the same.
You could be helping oversee a major concert one evening, managing teams during a sell-out event the next, or supporting the smooth running of a high-profile sporting or entertainment occasion.
It’s fast-paced, sociable and genuinely interesting.
Work when it works for you
This is a casual contract, designed to give you flexibility.
There’s no expectation that you work every shift. You can choose the shifts that fit around your lifestyle, commitments and plans.
Want to pick up a few events a month? Great!
Fancy getting involved more regularly? Even better - the core team is calling!
Need to take some time off? No problem.
You’re in control of how much you work.
We’re looking for people who:
Stay calm, confident and professional when things get busy
Have excellent judgement and decision-making skills
Are comfortable leading and supporting teams
Can communicate confidently with colleagues, clients and the public
Know how to manage challenging situations with tact and authority
Take pride in delivering safe, well-run and enjoyable events
Bring energy, maturity and a good sense of humour to the team
Hold a valid DS SIA Licence, which is a requirement of the role
Extensive experience in high-stakes operational command, large-scale security operations, or venue security management is highly desirable.
The best bit?
You’ll be part of some of the biggest and most memorable events in Manchester, surrounded by a team that knows how to get the job done, while still having a bit of fun along the way.
So, if you’re looking for flexible work, a change of pace, great events and the chance to use the skills you’ve built over your career, we’d love to hear from you.
