The role

G4S FM is actively recruiting for a cleaner to join our team in HMP Parc as soon as possible.  This is a part time role for initially a six months period, when it will be reviewed and possibly made permanent. The hours of work are 20 per week: 6.00 am to 10.00 am or 10.00 am to 2.00 pm, Monday to Friday; there will be a requirement to work one weekend in four (Saturday and Sunday).  The hourly rate is £7.50.  Please note that the successful candidate will need to pass both G4S and NOMS vetting together with an enhanced DBS.

Role Responsibility:

To provide a cleaning service to specified areas in line with contract expectations and standards.  To work as part of a team and ensure that standards are maintained at all times.

  • To adhere to the contract cleaning specification and ensure that you are familiar with it.
  • To ensure that specific areas are cleaned at stated time schedule so we do not impact on the operational needs of the business.
  • To report any building related faults to the FM helpdesk.
  • To review and maintain stock levels of cleaning consumables in cleaning cupboards.
  • To ensure all cleaning cupboards and areas we occupy are kept clean and consumables stored in a safe manner.
  • To check cleaning equipment is safe before use and maintain it to a high standard.
  • Report any faults with cleaning equipment to your team leader.
  • Work as part of a team ensuring that where appropriate support is given to your team leader when requested.
  • To complete any work tasks within the scheduled target dates and submit the correct paperwork to the helpdesk for closure.
  • To ensure that all health and safety and COSHH requirements are followed. 
  • To be flexible in relation to working hours as regular overtime will be required to cover annual leave, sick leave and other operational requirements in addition to normal contracted hours. This could up to full time hours at times.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate should have the ability to follow instructions, effective communication and customer care skills with good interpersonal skills, high standards of personal hygiene, ability to work independently and as part of a team experience, and must be reliable and committed to the role.

  • Trained to a BICs standard
  • H & S awareness and certified to at least BSC level 2
