Job Introduction:

As a Site Security Supervisor, you will be responsible for administering the security contract and ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual requirements. This position will act as the G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. liaison with client, law enforcement agencies, customers, and employees. This position is also responsible for providing management oversight and driving operational accountability through effective change management and leadership development processes. This position is the primary point of contact for human relations functions involving company employees.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Primary liaison between G4S Secure Solutions USA and client senior management at client headquarters location
  • Determine and understand specific customer expectations; effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion
  • General Operations management; review post orders and make recommendations to corporate security when updates should be considered; review daily log reports and provides pass downs as required; responsible for officers meeting company standards pertaining to quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all company policies and procedures including worldwide business standards
  • Maintain client Smartcard Access Control Badging for all new and existing employees, contractors and visiting client employees following client guidelines and policies
  • General site level human resources management; participate in selection and placement at site level (prior to officer being assigned to client site), conduct performance reviews as needed to motivate/coach/counsel direct reports, manage attendance to ensure 100% contract compliance with all contracted hours utilizing G4S tools that are available to all site management personnel within client contract enterprise
  • Review alarm system open/close reports, compile exception reports and forward to appropriate security manager/operations manager for review
    Provide monthly report to the facilities and corporate security organizations detailing all pertinent activities that have occurred in the previous month concerning any security and safety issues
  • Administer G4S Safety Program; semi-annual review and revise the security Emergency Response plan
  • Identify and resolve issues; liaise with project stakeholders; proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans
  • Conduct and document monthly testing of security systems; follow through on any corrections/maintenance issues. Work with outside security technicians to maintain and upgrade security equipment, CCTV, alarm and access control systems
  • Develop and maintain liaison with property management groups, both for the building and for the surrounding property, Florham Park Police and Fire Department
  • Identify and resolve issues; liaise with project stakeholders; proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans; this position will be expected to be proactive in identifying potential security vulnerabilities at the site, developing mitigation recommendations, and participating in/leading teams focused on addressing broader security issues at the site

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess a current and valid driver's license
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, First Responder certification after successfully completing the National Registry examinations as required by Alabama statutes
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, an Alabama security license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have two (2) years minimum experience in one of more of the following:
    • Industrial security in a manufacturing / production facility
    • Firefighting (paid professional or volunteer experience) civilian or military
    • Law Enforcement civilian or military
    • Emergency Medical Technician civilian or military
    • Military experience
  • Must possess one or more of the following:
    • One (1) year experience in industrial security, at least six (6) months of which must be as a supervisor
    • One (1) year experience as a sworn law enforcement officer
    • Four (4) years active service in any branch of the armed forces, with a favorable discharge at a rank of E-4 or higher.

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to work flexible schedules
  • Must possess working knowledge and conceptual understanding of industrial, mechanical equipment such as fire extinguisher, water pressure valves, etc.
  • Post offer, must be able to pass training on the following:
    • Confined Space Entry Supervisor
    • Incipient Level EMS in accordance with National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) 600 -1.4.3.1
    • Basic Incident Command
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Office; minimal to no work in extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity: Working on PC while sitting; telephone use

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Limited, to include some standing, bending, limited stretching and reaching.
