Job Introduction:

The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Area Supervisor. As an Area Supervisor, you will be responsible for the professional operation, administration, profitability, and quality assurance of uniformed services for a client's site during an assigned shift at multiple locations. The Field Supervisor will carry a firearm on duty and will have access to firearms during site weapons inspections.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Ensure quality of service and contract compliance by regularly inspecting security personnel and facilities when assigned to his/her shift
  • Deliver uniforms and equipment to various locations
  • Ensure vehicle maintenance is current
  • Perform other operations and related functions as needed (e.g., maintain incident reports, assist in preparation of security surveys and post orders)
  • Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under his/her direct and/or indirect supervision
  • Respond to client requests

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, a current and valid Security Officer license
  • Must possess a current and valid state issued driver's license

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Minimum of one (1) year of verifiable experience in security-related industry at multiple site locations
    • Minimum of one (1) year of service in the active duty military, military reserves or National Guard in a supervisory capacity
    • Minimum of one (1) year of service in professional Law Enforcement, Auxiliary Police or Police Cadets in a supervisory capacity
  • Work history must include demonstrated knowledge of conducting security and safety inspections as well as monitoring electronic security systems

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be able to operate radio or telephone equipment and/or console monitors
  • Demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Ability to clearly read, write and interpret business reports
  • Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor and motivate employees to meet operational goals
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat

Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing

Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and driving. Minimal stooping or kneeling.
