G4S Facilities Management are looking for a Water Compliance Engineer / Authorised Person (AP) to join our team at Sizewell C.

Reporting directly to the Compliance Manager, you will serve as the lead Subject Matter Expert (SME) and Water Authorised Person (AP), driving operational excellence, compliance, and safety across the G4S Facilities Management contract at Sizewell C.

In this dynamic hands-on role, you will take true ownership of site water management managing processes, logbooks, and Written Schemes while delivering expert technical guidance to both internal leadership and the client. Beyond compliance, you will act as a key leader on site: overseeing specialist subcontractors, driving operational governance, representing G4S at Water Safety Groups, and mentoring site personnel. Key Responsibilities:

Technical Authority & Subject Matter Expertise

• Act as the Water AP and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for G4S FM at Sizewell C, providing comprehensive advice on all water safety matters to management and the client.

• Monitor legislative updates, guidance, and industry best practices to ensure continuous compliance across the contract. 

Governance, Processes & Risk Management

• Own and maintain all water management processes, procedures, logbooks, and Written Schemes.

• Review water risk assessments, ensure actionable closeouts, and oversee sampling frequencies, monitoring results, and adverse findings.

• Execute oversight and assurance activities across operational teams to enfore established water standards. 

Operational Support and Solutions

• Work directly with field teams to resolve site water challenges by developing practical solutions and mitigation controls.

• Lead performance management and liaison with specialized water management subcontractors. 

People Leadership & Mentorship 

• Maintain competency logs and perform checks for Responsible Persons (RP) and Deputy RPs. 

• Identify training needs, deliver specialized development programs, and mentor personnel involved in site water management. 

Stakeholder Management & Reporting

• Build strong relationship across internal teams, the SZC Client, contruction contractors, and 3rd-party supppliers. 

• Respresent G4S FM at Water Safety Groups and client meetings. 

• Collaborate with Health & Safety/Compliance teams to publish monthly performance reports that drive continuous improvements. 

What we're looking for: 

Essential:

• Demonstrable working experience with HSG274 (Part 2) and HSE Approved Code of Practice L8 ACoPs.

• Strong FM background  with high professional standards and solid knowledge of statutory compliance regulations and SFG20.

• Level 3 qualified in at least one technical discipline. 

• Strategic Planning and Project Management skills. 

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, and strong interpersonal skills. 

• IT literate.

• Ability to build a strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

• Meticulous attention to details and strong Customer focus. 

Desirable:

• Experience on large-scale infrastructure projects. 

• Experience of CAFM / Concept Evolution. 

• IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications.
