Churchill Hospital is a centre of excellence for cancer services and other specialties, including renal services and transplant, clinical and medical oncology, dermatology, haemophilia, chest medicine and palliative care. It’s also a major centre for healthcare research.

We are actively seeking to recruit a Medical Gas & Ventilation Specialist to join our friendly team to provide engineering support to enable the medical professionals to carry out their healthcare needs. This is a full time role based at Churchill Hospital working 40 hours per week. 

Responsibilities:

• Act as AP for Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Medical Gases on site and undertake specialist works including planning of these in line with HTM 03-01 and HTM 02-01.

• Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities allied to Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Medical Gases.

• Carry out maintenance, inspection and repairs to various types of ventilation and medical gas systems.

• Diagnosing faults on Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Medical Gas support systems and rectifying where necessary.

• Assisting in the development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments, preparing and maintaining relevant technical records..

• Working with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and unskilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis..

• Assist in the training and development of other maintenance/technical staff.

• Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods. 

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

• 5 years experience within building and facilities maintenance

• Level 3 qualification in related trade

• Experience managing staff and subcontractors
