£45,000 - £48,000 per annum 

Full Time - Monday to Friday 40 hours per week

Job Outline:
G4S ESS are seeking an experienced Data Architect & Team Lead with comprehensive experience of designing, establishing and maintaining a data warehouse function. Creating and overseeing effective high-level approaches that solve data and ETL challenges allowing the business to meet its contractual, legal and growth objectives. You will support the data lead in the development of data architectures, models, and data management processes that support the company's data strategy. Manage the data lifecycle, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, and retrieval. This role has up to 2 Data Engineer reports.

In this pivotal role, you will:

• Lead Data Architecture & Engineering: Design, implement and maintain a robust and scalable data architecture, encompassing data warehousing, data lakes, and data pipelines. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all data sources. Develop and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures.

• Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning. Guide team members in their career development and goal achievement.

• Data Governance & Compliance: Oversee data governance activities, including data quality assessments and compliance with data regulations (eg: GDPR).

• Project Delivery & Stakeholder Management: Lead and manage data-related projects from inception to completion. Collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that meet business needs.

• Business Intelligence & Insights: Translate data into actionable insights to support business decision-making. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards using tools like Power BI.

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Identify and implement opportunities to improve data processes and technologies. Stay abreast of the latest data technologies and trends.

• Strategic Partnerships & Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organisation, including leadership, contract delivery, and information security.

• Future-Proofing & Technical Excellence: Support data innovation and maintain a fit-for-purpose technology approach with a focus on technical excellence and continuous improvement.

The Ideal Candidate:

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience as a Data Architect or similar role.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing principles and technologies.
• Proficiency in Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Commercial awareness and business acumen.
• Self-motivated, proactive, and accountable for performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• In-depth understanding of data security.
• Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality tools.
• Experience leading and mentoring data teams.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, and Looker.

Desirable Criteria:

• Experience in Computer Science or Data Management.
• Working knowledge of Contact Centre Operations.
• Experience with Domo.
• Familiarity with Cloud Composer, Data Fusion, Data Flow, Data Proc, Data Peek, and Analytics.
• Understanding of AI, including risks and opportunities.
