Job Introduction:

This role is an all-encompassing Thames Tideway Supervisor role, based from Carnwarth Road, responsible for sites from Action to Nine Elms. Applicants must have specific proven supervisory experience, ideally on the project or within construction and ideally very familiar with the Tideway security contract, project ready, CSCS qualified and be able to prove and meet the exacting standards of the demanding customer and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the G4S West Zone Manager, working on a 4 on 4 off rota, nights and weekends with the other supervisors. To meet G4S performance standards and client operational WI0700 requirements. Ideally have control room, ops room experience and current G4S system skills experience such as Signet, OMS and Securetrax. He/she will have all round supervisory security skills tested in a construction environment. Responsible for zone site operations, managing risk, resilience, technology, H&S, close liaison with the 3Ci, controlling staff and operations delivering access control, perimeter security, ID card checks, H&S checks, liaison with customers and stakeholders for all worksites on the West Zone.  The Supervisor will lead on site meetings and operations on the given day/night or weekend, but primarily work with the customer and stakeholders providing the support and guidance as required. The successful applicant will have proven strong, directive and supportive leadership skills which must satisfy the customer and stakeholders on interview. Maintaining an operational overview across the project and collaboration with CCTV operators, EPIC. The Supervisor will have good understanding of data capture, data management and GDPR awareness, good understanding of H&S, risk based planning and previous experience in construction would be advantageous. Note:  Essentially the person will be a vital and critical part of the team and operationally savvy and have to satisfy both the Tideway management and customer.  Please note that you will be required to manage shift rostas, forward plan, conduct welfare checks and manage at the supervisory level all matters of security across sites within the zone. Travel to/from multiple sites each day,  so good time management skills are essential. Liaison with the other two zones and the central control room is essential. They will be subject to random drug and alcohol screening checks during their employment.  There is a zero tolerance and any ‘positive’ results are likely to result in termination of employment. Employment will also be subject to successful completion of the project on boarding process.

Role Responsibility:

The role encompasses:


  • Supervisory leadership for the delivery of security service across the central project.
  • Efficient performance of the assignment and staff optimization which will include technology and data capture.
  • Liaison with MWC & TTT, TW and other key stakeholders like the EPIC team
  • Ensure that HS&E is at forefront of delivery
  • Control information flow to and from worksites and 3Ci using a range of systems
  • Ensure standards of service meet or exceed Thames Tideway (TTT) expectations in line with Key Performance Indicators and contractual obligations
  • Support the interface with TTT and develop relationships with TTT Security, TTT contractors and TTT staff to ensure the customer requirements are fully understood and met. Will include close liaison with Metropolitan Police (MPS) and all Emergency Services.
  • Ensure that Command, Control & Communications between all elements of the security team and MWC’s is fully effective and managed closely
  • Lead the west teams ensuring they are suitably developed, trained, rehearsed, briefed, ready and available to carry out their roles and responsibilities at all times. This includes resilience and managing all core and TW shifts and short notice cover of the control room teams and oversight of the worksite rotas and resilience
  • Ensure a 100% OMS record of all security staff is maintained so conducting PPS and return to work interviews are key to this role
  • Seek to enhance service delivery and develop opportunities to add value to the service
  • Ensure contractual compliance is delivered at all times
  • Ensure that the shift and activities are compliant with legislation, ISO 9002, 27001 requirements and that G4S’ own controls (OMS, AIs, Site Security Instructions, SOP’s, Risk Assessments etc.) are in place and up to date. Work closely with HSE Manager and Zone Manager to achieve this
  • Ensure available assets are used to best effect at all times. Ensure all assets are secured at all times.
  • Act as Bronze Commander if and when you step up as the Zone Manager if an incident occurs and be prepared to hand control to the MWC Security Manager, building emergency coordinator, G4S Account Director or whoever and deputies accordingly
  • Training staff is a function and will be part of this role.

    Management Support:


  • Day to day Line Management of staff, shifts, TW, welfare, health and safety and site/s matters
  • Recruitment and training of suitable security staff for new.
  • Work closely with HSE Manager, all G4S Zone Managers, Customers, Commercial Manager.
  •  Flexibility is essential as this is a dynamic and rapidly developing role and project
  • Key responsibilities
  • Supervise west zone security operations
  • Planning and liaison with the customer, client at all the appropriate levels
  • Operational leadership and decision making
  • Responsible for the access control and CCTV data
  • Monitor quality and production of all data reporting
  • Work closely with Zone Manager, management and customers.
  • Compliance with TTT Operational Policy and Protocols
  • Adhere to Assignment Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures within the zone
  • Network with industry colleagues, produce best practice recommendations and promote a professional image of all G4S operations
  • Day to day management and implementation of H&S
  • Close liaison with EPIC, Tideway and Control room.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Excellent communication and liaison skills at all levels with customers, management, senior management and employees
  • Experience in a similar role, service background advantageous
  • Construction Site Security experience ideal
  • Data management and leadership experience of working in a high-profile, high-pressure operational environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative
  • Flexible, organised and able to work under pressure
  • Confident, well presented with excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written communications skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work on own initiative, within company and client deadlines
  • Customer focus and an ability to develop key stakeholder relationships to enhance operational performance and develop the business
  • A good standard of computer literacy (including MS Office applications: Google, Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledge of G4S business process applications (OMS, Signet, ESS)
  • A flexible approach to working patterns and hours, 5 year checkable work history
  • SIA DS licensed, CSCS required, CCTV & IOSH ideal.
  • Specific Tideway construction experience ideal
  • Valid ESS experience ideal,

Ideally Live in/close proximity to or easily commutable to Hammersmith & Fulham.


Key Performance Indicators

  1. Adherence to company policies & operating procedure
  2. Ensuring that all tasks undertaken across all assignments are executed in line with operating procedures and client direction.
  1. All posts fully covered, rostered briefed and correctly deployed as per ESS or Signet
  2. Production of daily/weekly Reports & Returns
  3. Production of accurate data reports and follow-up data
  4. Correct application of SOP’s and site instructions
  5. Responsible for updating OMS, organizing annual leave, and roster management.
  6. Second interview with customer is mandatory.
  7. Must have a valid SIA Door Supervisor licence, CSCS
