The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Security Center Operator. In this position you will be under the direction of security management and will perform diversified duties related to the protection of company employees and assets. You must ensure that adequate security is maintained in accordance with established security programs and procedures. You will also perform duties specific to the Security Center such as monitoring and programming electronic access control systems; monitoring and controlling closed circuit television systems; managing emergencies; responding to alarms; monitoring and dispatching security officers as necessary; providing appropriate customer service to employees, contractors and visitors of the company. In addition, you must assist with Security projects as necessary.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Access Control
  • Notify the appropriate personnel in an emergency
  • Notify, direct, and assist emergency personnel in the event of an emergency
  • Directing visitors to the appropriate areas
  • Monitor and control removal of company and personal property
  • Report all building utility/ service issues as observed and instructed to facilities

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass any State-required training and any other qualifications for licensing

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess one (1) year or more previous experience in a security-related role

Skills Required

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Active listening skills
  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy

Other

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the State, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must be willing and able to work flexible schedules
  • Must have access to reliable transportation
  • Must be able to pass the Crisis Intervention Team Training as established throughout the National Alliance on Mental Illness
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military
  • Upon acceptance of a job offer, must be able to pass the following:
    • MMPI - Psychological testing, if armed or otherwise required
    • Physical exam, if armed or required by client contract
