Job Introduction:

The Security Operations Manager (SOM) Static is the primary agent for operational management and contract compliance for the BP contract. The SOM is to facilitate the smooth running of the project by applying sound managerial principles and judgement at all times. The SOM is to interface with both the Client’s Management Team and G4S Management Team to ensure expectations are safely met.

 

The project will incorporate the journey management of clients personnel.  Providing support to the Security Manager, management solutions and development of security procedures within Iraq’s Southern Oilfields.

The role is likely to require interaction and liaison between a large number of Stakeholders including the local community and other clients, contractors and sub-contractors operating within the area of operations.

Role Responsibility:

  • Carry out all duties in support of the G4S Project Security Manager.
  • Oversee and co-ordinate all G4S activities in support of operations on a daily and as required basis.
  • Ensure compliance with Iraqi law.
  • Ensure that full training and personnel records are maintained for all G4S personnel.
  • Ensure that all G4S rotational leave plans are implemented.
  • Manage and co-ordinate all communications and Control Room requirements in support of Operations.
  • Assess and supervise any local security arrangements.
  • Develop, oversee and implement orders where required.
  • Develop reporting procedures for security incidents.
  • Assist in the development of evacuation and medical plans.
  • Liaise and co-ordinate activities with personnel.
  • Manage all G4S APT activities and personnel on a daily basis.
  • Assist with the management of security plans for the Rumaila Field.
  • Implement Red Barn and ROO Security plans, making sure that they are implemented, updated and tested on a periodic basis.
  • Participate in and co-ordinate the security response to emergency calls.
  • Make regular recommendations leading to a state of continuous improvement and constant security enhancement. 
  • Assist in the development of evacuation and medical plans.
  • Command and control the Project at all times ensuring all work is conducted safely, in line with directives set by SSI Management team
  • Ensure that G4S Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed at all times.
  • Weekly returns are to be completed and sent in a timely manner.
  • Produce and implement Security Standard Operating Procedures (Red Barn and ROO HQ) to include Site Security, Rules for Use of Force (RUF) and Quick Reaction Force (QRF) procedures.
  • Implement Red Barn and ROO HQ Security SOP’s that mirror and compliment ROO Minimum Security Standards
  • Complete project billing as dictated by the contract and by the G4S Oilfield Service Management Team
  • Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor all personnel through formal channels.
  • Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.

Ensure all incidents and accident reports are completed as per SOPs.


The Ideal Candidate:

To be considered for these roles candidate CV's MUST be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Commercial Security Management experience
  • At least 8 years exemplary military service record at Senior NCO or above
  • Extensive current experience of operating in Iraq.
  • Experience in working in hostile environments
  • Experience in the training and management of multinational personnel.
  • Military or Commercial Training experience
  • Commercial experience in Iraq
  • High standard of education and demonstrable personal development
  • Arabic language qualifications are desirable
  • Project Management qualifications are desirable e.g. Prince 2
  • Professional Security Management qualifications would be a bonus
  • SIA Licence
