Job Introduction:

Our Company is seeking a Strategic Credit Controller to join our Finance Shared Service Centre in Worksop. As a Strategic Credit Controller, your main aim is to ensure G4S's outstanding debt is minimised and risks are identified, escalated, and resolved in a timely manner.  This role will involve working closely with senior internal and external stakeholders of the business, in addition to working closely with Management to support the departmental goals and objectives.

This is a permanent, full-time role working working Monday to Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm.  The role is primarily based out of our Worksop office, with some flexibility for home working.  You must live within reasonable commuting distance of the site.

Role Responsibility:

As a Strategic Credit Controller, your primary responsibilities include:

  • Chasing customer payments within G4S payment terms to minimise bad debt.
  • Ensuring that all requests are completed and resolved successfully within the agreed-upon service level.
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities for FSSC service delivery.
  • Achieving daily outbound phone targets set by your team leader.
  • Working towards individual and Business Unit Overdue Debt reduction targets and Cash Collection.
  • Collaborating on customer disputes to help reduce outstanding G4S debt and escalating issues to the appropriate Business owners.
  • Creating and categorising outbound service requests.
  • Conducting weekly debt calls with Finance Business Partners and Directors on a weekly basis to flag any areas of risk in a timely manner.
  • Inducting new starters and providing ongoing training for staff in the Credit Control teams.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for team members on issues that do not fall within standard processes or guidance.
  • Dealing with escalated invoice queries and implementing payment plans.
  • Assisting the Team Leader in inputting into Monthly Cash Collection forecasting based on account and Business knowledge.
  • Supporting the Team Leader in providing monthly reporting to the team and BU’s on Cash, Overdue debt position, SLA’s, Targets or KPI’s.
  • Actively promoting equality, diversity and inclusion within the department, supporting management in leading the team in a manner consistent with G4S principles.

The candidate who would be the best fit for the Strategic Credit Controller role should have the following experience and essential proven skills:

  • Previous experience in Credit Control with a strong understanding of credit control policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
  • A good understanding of accounting systems and the interactions of ledgers within Accounts Receivable.
  • Experience in handling problems related to debt management such as non-payment of customer invoices requiring legal recourse.
  • Experience in managing complex customer credit portfolios is desirable.
  • Experience in developing and coaching team members to maximise potential.
  • Familiarity with SAP and/or other Finance systems is desirable.

 

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. These documents may include your passport, driver’s license, utility bill (dated in the last 3 months),

HMRC letter, an original bank statement, an original payslip, your birth certificate, or a valid share code.
