Permanent - Full Time (40 hours per week)

Within Care and Rehabilitation Services, the philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and causes of prison stress are minimised. Central to our philosophy is the relationship between staff and prisoners. Our training and operational practices emphasise the need to treat prisoners with dignity and respect and G4S staff build positive and supportive relationships with the prisoners in their care. HMP & YOI Parc accommodates 1038 convicted male adult prisoners and remand/ convicted young offenders and young people in a secure but modern environment.

 

We now have an opportunity for a Security Intelligence Collator to join our team at HMP Parc to aid and support the establishments Security Management Team in identifying and tracking threats to the establishments security with accurate recording and inputting of relevant information to local and national intelligence systems, and promoting positive working relationships with other law enforcement agencies.

 

Some of the Key Responsibilities are:

  • Collate, process and input intelligence associated documentation including Security Information Reports and Incident Reports onto relevant IT systems such as Incident Reporting System (IRS) and Mercury for investigation.
  • Carry out an initial analysis and assessment of information received, making contact with the source and conducting initial enquiries / investigation as needed.
  • Log all security related information including development nominals, stoppages of contact.
  • Prepare and complete escort paperwork, including risk assessment, Prisoner Escort Records (PERs) and escape packs for all external escorts, bedwatches  and court attendance.
  • Monitor outgoing telephone calls on the PINPhone system, on an ad-hoc & intelligence led and public protection basis.
  • Maintain public protection records linked to risk status which will impact risk to members of the public and victims such as child contact, restraining orders and victim vulnerabilities.
  • Undertake other administrative tasks including: -
  • Organise, produce and maintain accurate records for areas of work.
  • Prioritise and distribute communications to the appropriate person or relevant department in the establishment.
  • Correspond with relevant stakeholders and agencies to ensure that they are aware of information so that information is adequately shared.
  • Maintain and check establishment databases, manual filing systems and logs of information, responding within agreed timescales and producing reports as required.
  • Act as note/minute taker to meetings as required including organising agenda, distributing minutes and action points.
  • Act as Command Suite Log Keeper to the command team as and when required.

  • Good standard of education to GCSE level A-C at Maths and English, or be able to demonstrate equivalent skills and ability.
