Technician X4-Gaborone

TECHNICIAN- GABORONE (X4)

Purpose 

Reporting to the Senior Technician, this role is responsible for Installation and configuration of Alarm systems, CCTV, Deposita Machine, Access Control as well as commissioning and deployment of all systems. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Undertakes installation of intrusion detection systems, access control, CCTV and data communication systems. On-site work will include installation and configuration of head-end systems, installation, termination, and calibration of field devices and sensors, and installation of communication infrastructure including conduit, enclosures and fiber optic cables. 
• Undertakes testing and maintenance and inspection of devices to ensure proper functioning. 
• Completes service status reports and other documentation as required. 
•  Organizes and undertakes service calls and preventive maintenance with clients to discuss service activities, changes, and developments with the customer and site personnel. 
• Carries out systems routine maintenance and recommends upgrades where necessary. 
• Conducts occasional assistance with installation projects when service call volume is low.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience: 

● Minimum diploma in Electrical/Electronic engineering, Diploma in IT or related field. 

● National Craft Certificate (NCC) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering. 

● 2+ years of field experience as a Technician. 

● Extensive knowledge of electronics, computer programming, site service, and installation experience. 

● A valid driver's license. 

● Knowledge of access control, fire alarm, intruder alarms and CCTV. 

● Conversant with resolving complex technical faults, investigating root causes and making recommendations.
