Working Hours: Permanent, Full-Time 40 Hours per week Monday - Friday
Location: Tower Hamlet Schools
Tower Hamlets Schools portfolio. The portfolio is made up of 25 schools all located within the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
The Maintenance Engineer-Fabric will be working within the Hard FM delivery of the contract, to provide an effective and compliant delivery of hard fm
fabric maintenance services to schools within the Greenwich Schools contract. They will liaise regularly with the Engineering Team Leader and Facilities Manager to
ensure that work being carried out fully meets their requirements.
Main Duties will include:

Carry out maintenance inspection and repairs to various types of building fabric elements on site, at Greenwich school where necessary, and within their range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience.

Give support to a Second School contract for Tower Hamlets Schools covering when required for staff sickness, Annual leave and Operational requirements.

Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets etc. within their range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience as required and by out of hours response where necessary.

Ensure that all reactive and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard within the contracted SLA’s

Ensure all planned maintenance tasks are completed within the designated time period to enable full statutory compliance

Diagnosing faults on all building fabric elements such as roofing, drainage and rainwater and rectifying where necessary and within their range of qualifications, levels of competence, training and experience.

Following detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and reactive repairs

Provide a client-facing interface to ensure a high level of communication is delivered to the client.

Manage subcontractor work performance as and when required for site attendance

Produce clear and concise written reports in a timely manner.

Maintain the professional image of G4S and the client at all times.

Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all G4S & client employees and representatives.

Fire Risk Assessment Awareness

SLA Management

Excellent knowledge of Statutory Compliance

Read construction “As Installed drawings and schematics” and O & M Documentation to check information relating to facility design and construction.

Work at height using ladders and scaffolding as directed and in accordance with the Company’s safe systems of work.

Training in access methods such as- PASMA / IPAF / MEWPS etc.

Good communication skills – both written and verbal

Ability to approach problems and consider potential solutions

Demonstrable aptitude for practical, hands on skills
-
Ability to work carefully, methodically and safely
Desirable Criteria:

Experience of building maintenance and construction activities

Experience in working in an education environment and associated procedures

Experience and knowledge of other trades related to building operation and maintenance.

Knowledge of Safe Systems Of Work relevant to the work area.

Knowledge of legislation and technical standards relevant to experience
