JOB SUMMARY / PURPOSE:
The Commercial Finance Lead will work with the current Commercial operations Manager to lead the delivery of the Finance workstreams and projects within in larger implementation programme.
They will need to be versatile, agile and adaptable and be able to apply a range of disciplines, including project management, business analysis, and data analysis, to ensure quality and on time delivery of project objectives and deliverables, ensuring key milestones are met.
The Commercial Finance Lead will on-board the commercial requirements of the new contract and ensure that G4S systems and processes are aligned to the payment mechanisms of the new contract. The Commercial Finance Lead will also need to integrate any commercial functions with the new Integrator processes and systems.
The COM will lead in the forecasting and financial reporting for the contract, working in conjunction with the Programme Director, Account Director and Senior Management team.
The role is a national role working from home however adhoc travel may be required to customer officers and the division hub locations in Tewkesbury, Leeds and London will be required thus a driving licence and transport is advisable for this position.
The position requires the candidate to be flexible around the demands and requirements of the relevant projects which may include occasional evening and weekend working.
A positive and flexible attitude to teamwork and a willingness to learn and get stuck in is critical as the COM will need to support the team members and other workstreams as required with tasks and deliverables of the project.
RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Implement and embed effective pre and post Contract commercial management services.
Implement all customer driven commercial and financial requirements
Document all customer commercial and financial processes
Undertake all relevant Commercial Management duties in conformance with the policies and Procedures in a timely and effective manner
Agree and define the Monthly Application process and work
Provide periodic financial reports including Cost Forecasting
Update all commercial systems in line with new contract pricing
Integrate payment and workflow processes with Integrator systems and processes
Ensure relevant balance sheet accounts are well maintained and properly controlled
Managing relationships with Integrator & Authority Commercial teams
Control all inputs to be able to produce accurate and detailed contract P+L’s
Manage Change to contract and Ad Hoc requests for analysis to support the Operations team with their decision making
Work to drive efficiencies and Profit Improvement Plans
Prepare Budget reports
Engage in open dialogue with the Authority and Integrator to ensure value for money solutions are delivered
Track and monitor all variances/change requests to existing contract requirements
Ensure all KPI failures are captured for accurate penalty payments.
COMPETENCIES / REQUIREMENTS:
Demonstrable track record in a Commercial Management role on complex accounts from pre-tender stage through to successful contract award and further Post Contract administration
Breadth of knowledge in Commercial Management of implementing effective cost and commercial management processes that can be shown to have delivered value for money for the Client
Specific knowledge and track record of contract commercial services including those related to reporting, tendering, payment, variations, change and claims management and final account settlement.
An understanding of the change and risk management process
Highly organised with an excellent ability to manage multiple projects under pressure
Strong performance manager with drive and enthusiasm to succeed as part of a team and deliver outstanding results
Highly conscientious and self-motivated with a flexible approach to role demands
Excellent communicator with strong written and presentation skills
Strong ethical and professional values
Qualified Accountant CIMA/ACCA/ACA desirable
Significant experience of Commercial contract management
Ability to work with non-finance operational staff
Ability to use Google G Suite and Microsoft Office.
