Strategic Credit Control/Cash Allocation Clerk

About the role and team
To ensure G4S outstanding debt is minimised and risks identified and escalated and resolved in a timely manner on Key Strategic customers. In addition, provide guidance to process and on-going training to our offshore service provider.
Your responsibilities will include:
Chasing and allocating customer payments in line with G4S payment terms to minimise bad debt on a portfolio of Key Strategic customers.
Handling of interactions received into Credit Control and Cash Allocation regarding a specific customer portfolio ensuring all requests are completed and successfully resolved within the agreed service level.
Look for process improvement opportunity for FSSC and offshore service delivery
Work to individual and Business Unit Overdue Debt reduction targets, Cash Collection and unallocated cash.
Work to support on customer disputes to help minimise outstanding G4S debt and escalate to the appropriate Business owners
Creating and categorising outbound service requests.
Participate in debt calls with offshore partners, Finance Business Partners and Directors on a monthly basis ensuring that risk is flagged in a timely manner.
Assist the Team Leader with input into the Monthly Cash Collection forecasting based on account and Business knowledge.
Assist and support the Team Leader with providing monthly reporting on Cash, Overdue debt position, SLA’s, Targets or KPI’s.
Assist the Team Leader with Offshore Service Delivery KPI/SLA Monitoring

What we're looking for:
Technical Skills:
Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
Numerate and Literate.
An understanding of SAP and/or other Finance systems.
Experience
A good understanding of accounting systems and the interactions of ledgers within Accounts Receivable.
Experience of dealing with problems relating to the management of debt such as non-payment of customer invoices requiring legal recourse.
Experience in managing complex customer credit portfolios is desirable.
Experience of developing and coaching team members to maximise potential.
Experience of working in a busy Customer Service/Finance environment.

Should possess the drive to deliver a high quality service to help promote the Financial Shared Service Centre
Team Player must be willing to help, support and encourage colleagues
Good time management skills to ensure own and team targets are prioritised.
Ability to keep calm under pressure and adapt positively to change.
