About the role and team
We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and alert Security and Emergency Officer to deliver site-specific security and emergency management support, providing essential day-to-day operational coordination at the local level.
In this frontline role, you will be a vital link in maintaining site safety, responding to critical emergency codes, collaborating with emergency services, and ensuring site operations adhere to high standards of compliance and preparedness.
In this role you will
- Deliver day-to-day security and emergency management support in alignment with G4S policies
- Act as an immediate responder to all on-site emergency incidents across standard codes
- Prepare and submit accurate, comprehensive incident reports through internal reporting systems following any emergency event
- Build strong working relationships with key local stakeholders, including custody operations, jurisdictional representatives, Victoria Police, and emergency service providers
- Identify, monitor, and promptly escalate emerging threats, operational risks, or local site changes to the SEM Manager
- Drive local operational readiness by circulating updated emergency procedures, supporting awareness initiatives, and guiding site wardens in their duties
What we're looking for
- Valid Victorian Security Licence (Unarmed Guard minimum)
- Practical background in emergency response procedures or warden operations is advantageous (desired, not essential)
- Computer literacy with strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel for report writing and data coordination
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate information clearly during critical incidents
- Demonstrated staff management capability and strong interpersonal skills
