G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Junior Technician based at our operations in Witbank, Mpumalanga Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Junior Technician plays within a successful business unit. Main Purpose of the Position
This role is responsible for the installation and maintenance of electronic security systems efficiently while maintaining quality standards, accurate contract administration, workplace safety, and positive client relations to support the region's operational and financial goals.
Key Performance Areas
Effective administration of the technology contract to ensure sound financial performance
Adhere to the profitability of contracts with a focus on records and hours.
Contract Margin administration:
Billable hours
Job Cards
Coordinate and complete administration for the contract and invoice documentation and ensure accuracy of information
Effective management of operations
Complete daily tasks with close monitoring of standards and hours of subordinates.
Client retention and customer service levels
Maintenance of positive customer relationships
Quality Management/ Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard
Effective management of business development function
New business development:
Identifying new business opportunities in the region’s sphere of operations, as well as in terms of growth of business with existing customers.
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programs
Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Wear protective clothing all the time
Ideal Candidate
Qualification and Experience
Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent
Valid Driver’s Licence
Minimum 2-3 years Electronic Security Products, Installations and maintenance experience required
Experience with regards to installation of the following systems:
I. CCTV
II. Access Control
III. Intruder Detection
IV. Fire Detection
V. Fire Suppression
Software Knowledge Level
Knowledge of Time and Attendance.
Knowledge of Access Control.
Knowledge of CCTV
Knowledge base on communication protocols i.e. TCP/IP.
Basic Computer literacy and proficiency.
Windows 98 / 2000/ XP / Vista /Windows 7
MS Office Suite (Full)
Hardware Knowledge Level
Knowledge of Time and Attendance Hardware
Knowledge of Access Control Hardware.
Knowledge of CCTV
Knowledge of Alarms
Knowledge of Electric Fencing
Knowledge of Gate Motors
