G4S Secure Solutions (SA), a leading provider of integrated security management solutions, has a vacancy for a Senior Technician based at our operations in Witbank, Mpumalanga Reporting to the Regional Technical Manager,
The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Senior Technician plays within a successful business unit. Main Purpose of the Position
This role is responsible for delivering technical services relating with the implementation, installation and maintenance of technology contracts and projects. Assisting with site surveys for new implementations and compile scope of work for hardware/software requirements. Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations is maintained at all times in the delivery of technical services.

Plan and manage the profitability of projects and SLA contracts with a focus on maintenance, sustainability, cost effectiveness and labour.

Manage the contract cash flow and oversight of invoice documentation and accuracy of information

Ensuring that acceptable standards of behaviour at work are maintained by all subordinate employees, as required by G4S’s code of conduct and disciplinary code.
Effective management of operations
Co-coordinating the Maintenance/Project process flow and activities that has a direct/indirect impact on the outcome and success of contract/project.
Plan and coordinate daily tasks and subordinates, with close monitoring of standards and hours.
Client retention and customer service levels
Maintenance of positive customer relationships
Quality Management/Ops Process management – adherence to quality standard
Conduct and oversee quality controls and inspections
Health and Safety
Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the departmental safety plans for each year
Participate in safety forums created by the company for example safety meetings and safety talks
Report all safety incidents to the relevant people
Discuss all safety incidents
Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting/committee/representative/management
Attend safety education and refresher programs
Comply with safety policies and procedures at the workplace
Distribute safety information as and when required
Ideal Candidate
Qualification and Experience
Grade 12 / Matric Equivalent
Formal Technical Training advantageous
Valid Driver´s Licence essential
Minimum 3 to 5 years Electronic Security Services /Maintenance experience
Impro Portal Certified level 4 essential
Milestone CCTV Certification essential
Experience in Sales by compiling scope of work
Financial Management relative to managing profitability
Good conceptual interpretation and presentation of Financial and Operational Reports to Executive Management.
Extensive experience with regards to implementation of the following systems:
CCTV
Access Control
Intruder Detection
Fire Detection & Fire Suppression
Software Knowledge Level
Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance.
Broad knowledge of Access Control.
Broad knowledge of CCTV
Strong knowledge base on communication protocols i.e. TCP/IP.
Basic Computer literacy and proficiency.
Hardware Knowledge Level
Broad knowledge of Time and Attendance Hardware
Broad knowledge of Access Control Hardware.
Broad knowledge of CCTV
Broad knowledge of Alarms
Broad knowledge of Electric Fencing
Broad knowledge of Gate Motors
