Deposita SA, a world-renowned Cash Management Company specialising in Smart Solutions for the Banking, retail, and wholesale sectors, has a vacancy in the Manufacturing Department.

Reporting to the Assembly Supervisor, the successful candidate will be appointed as our new Stock Controller, responsible for conducting rigorous quality control checks and driving health and safety compliance across our operations.

We are looking for a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and exercising sound judgement to achieve organizational goals. The incumbent will ensure that every aspect of stock receipt meets world-class quality standards, from verification and inspection to documentation and reporting. Success in this role will be measured by accuracy, consistency, and a measurable reduction in quality-related inquiries across all communication channels, demonstrating a clear understanding of how meticulous quality control and operational integrity contribute to a successful business unit.

Position Overview 

The successful candidate will be appointed as our new Stock Controller, responsible for conducting rigorous quality control checks and driving health and safety compliance across our operations. This role ensures that every aspect of stock receipt meets world-class quality standards, from verification and inspection to documentation and reporting. Performance is measured by accuracy, consistency, and a key reduction in quality-related inquiries across all communication channels. You will play a critical part in maintaining operational integrity, supporting continuous improvement, and ensuring that only compliant, quality-approved stock enters the supply chain.

Key Performance Areas & Responsibilities

1. Quality Control

• Inbound Inspection & Verification: Conduct detailed quality control during the receiving process and continuously analyse quality control mechanisms and processes.

• Non-Conformance Management: Record, reject, and report non-conforming incoming goods to the Quality Control Manager for supplier returns, and lead supplier liaison on faulty products.

• Analysis & Evaluation: Perform quality control analysis on faulty components, assist with the supplier evaluation process, and stay abreast of industry best practices related to production.
  
  
  

• Continuous improvement & Support: Design and present quality improvement ideas, systems, and processes, while assisting in all other areas of the quality department when required.

Key Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Grade 12 is required; a relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in stock control, quality assurance, or a similar supply chain/production environment.

• Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in inventory management systems and ERP software.

• Strong capability in data analysis, stock verification, and quality documentation.

• Familiarity with root cause analysis and quality control tools for faulty components.

• Working knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards within industrial or production environments.
  
  
  

2. Health and safety

• Safety Plans & Forums: Actively participate in the design, development, review, implementation, and monitoring of branch, regional, and national safety plans, and engage in company safety meetings and talks.

• Incident Reporting & Follow-Ups: Report and discuss safety incidents across all levels, and diligently follow up on any activities assigned through safety committees, representatives, or management.

• Compliance & PPE: Comply strictly with all workplace safety policies and procedures, attend safety education and refresher programs, distribute safety information as required, and wear mandatory protective clothing at all times.
