About Us

G4S in Wales is a key provider of criminal justice services, operating in both the custodial and community sectors. We pride ourselves on the quality of our provision and we consistently seek to work alongside and in partnership with a range of other providers in the voluntary (third), public and private sectors.

We have developed services which are focused on identifying ways to maximise positive impact and make the most effective use of available resources by working with other agencies on common objectives.

In this way we are increasingly able to meet wide ranging and complex needs in the most appropriate way.

We have a commitment to research, evaluation and review of evidence based initiatives.

We value and, where possible, contribute to research into reducing re-offending and therefore we recognise the importance of understanding the wider environment in which individuals operate and this informs us about how best to engage, support and help people with change.

We seek to employ people with drive and energy and a real interest in innovation and teamwork – working beyond traditional organisational boundaries.

About the Role

We now have an opportunity for a Case Worker to join our team in the Cardiff area. Based in South Wales custody units and accessing the Voluntary Interview sites as identified, the dedicated EIP will support police with the front end triage work and will hold a caseload of clients identified as ‘persistent returners’.

The EIP will work collaboratively with Police/Courts and engage with individuals that have Required Assessments (RAs) and manage the GDAS CJ ‘persistent returners’ so that we take a consistent approach to engagement, re-engagement expectations and work to a defined strategy, working at all times in collaboration with Future 4 18 - 25 and WSA to ensure a robust early Intervention approach across cohorts.

Some of the key responsibilities for this role are:

    ● Support people to achieve stability, change and resilience. Engage detainees, undertake a triage in custody and offer immediate access to services.

    ● Work collaboratively with Police, Probation and prisons to gather and analyse intelligence on behavioural patterns.

    ● Will support police with the front end triage work and will hold a caseload of clients identified as ‘persistent returners’.

    ● Work closely with individuals to explore their needs, prioritising our response, seeking safety first and tailoring our approach in accordance with their
       engagement style, capabilities and characteristics.

    ● Triage assessments that provide a good initial understanding of a person’s needs and characteristics including potential barriers to engagement,
conditions that may inhibit an assessment and a plan of how to manage those factors.
