Area Operations Controller (HSBC)

Location: Leeds, United Kingdom | Salary: £13.67  p/h 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Area Operations controller to join our expanding Operations Support Team, based in our Leeds office (LS10), West Yorkshire. You will be responsible for our sourcing and scheduling officers at HSBC nationwide, as well as supporting frontline staff and field-based managers in all aspects of our security operations. This is a busy role and no two days are the same, but you will be working as part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team for the largest security company in the world! 

The Area Operations Controller works on a 4 on 4 off days offering plenty of flexibility and work/life balance for those that require it. Our shifts are 12 hours in duration, offering a minimum of 40 hours per week. 

Role Responsibility:

  • Take ownership and responsibility for the accurate and compliant system setup of customer requirements

  • Support and collaborate with colleagues in order to drive continuous department and company performance improvement

  • Maximise the company's regular scheduling performance and system functional efficiencies

  • Maximising Gross Margin Control 

  • Maintain operational employee training records and site association data in order to drive efficient and accurate scheduling

  • Long and short-term deployment and distribution of frontline employees to ensure 100% coverage of customer requirements

  • Manage frontline employee absence requests in line with company processes whilst ensuring sufficient availability to cover customer required hours

  • Proactively monitor employee pay and customer charge data to prevent pay/invoice queries

  • Assist in the investigation and resolution of pay & invoice queries, escalating to management where required

  • Regular & ad-hoc reporting on performance and personal contribution

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at individual and team level

  • Able to build, develop and maintain positive working relationships with frontline staff, managers and other support functions

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a focus upon continuous improvement.  

  • Can effectively operate with the minimum of supervision and direction

  • Able to work under pressure, with a calm and confident manner

  • Ability to prioritise and manage a complex workload

  • Full understanding of the Javelin Operational System - Particularly with regards to setup, scheduling and reporting

  • Numerate, literate, and experienced with Google Office tools

  • Flexible approach to working hours where required

About you

  • Previous experience in the security industry preferred but no essential

  • Previous experience of working as an Area Operations Controller is also desirable but not essential

  • You will be a team player - sometimes taking responsibilities for actions and supporting the other members of the team

  • Knowledge of the creation of spreadsheets and manipulation of data in them would be a distinct advantage but not essential

  • You will be able to prioritise your workload whilst under pressure

  • You will have good communication skills at all management and employee levels

  • You will have attention to detail, with excellent written communication skills

  • You will be proactive in your approach to work and know what exceptional customer service looks
