Overview of the role

As a professionally trained Security Officer for G4S, you could be a member of the security team responsible for securing premises, such as building sites, courts, shops, warehouses, banks and factories as well as ports and airports. You would be conducting foot or vehicle patrols, controlling access at points of entry, securing equipment and people, responding to emergency situations, monitoring CCTV and surveillance equipment and helping to identify and prevent criminal activity.

Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise and lead a team of security officers during assigned shifts.

Ensure the safety and security of customers, staff, tenants, and company assets.

Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and access control systems.

Conduct regular patrols of retail premises, entrances, exits, and restricted areas.

Handle security incidents, emergencies, disputes, and suspicious activities professionally.

Investigate theft, shoplifting, accidents, or security breaches and prepare incident reports.

Assist in crowd control during sales events, promotions, and peak operating hours.

Train and guide junior security officers on security procedures and company policies.

Ensure all officers comply with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.

Coordinate with store management, mall management, police, and emergency services when required.

Perform opening and closing security checks of the retail store.

Maintain records of daily occurrences, visitor logs, and security activities.

Conduct fire safety inspections and emergency evacuation procedures.

Respond quickly to alarms, medical emergencies, and fire incidents.

Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a strong security presence.
