About the role
G4S is seeking a proactive Business Improvement Manager to act as a vital partner within our high-risk Justice Service contract across the Northern Territory.
In this role, you will step back from daily frontline operations to review existing custody, court, and transport functions. You will have the unique opportunity to build on our existing foundations, identify process inefficiencies, and write up the core policies, procedures, and localised document controls required to meet strict contractual obligations.
While office-based in Darwin, you will travel and fly to sites across the state—including Alice Springs and Katherine—to conduct site reviews, work alongside operational staff, and implement evidence-based practices.
You will join a collaborative leadership team, working closely with the Manager of Justice Services, the NT Operations Manager, and the broader HSEQR team in Melbourne to foster an organisational culture centered on quality improvement and active risk mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Risk & Incident Management: Oversee active risk registers, identify emerging operational risks, and lead robust root-cause incident investigations.
- Document Control: Standardise operations by developing and managing an NT-specific document management system to ensure strict control over all local operational documents.
- Change Delivery: Partner directly with operational teams to implement critical process improvements stemming from internal audits.
- Data Reporting & Continuity: Maintain and develop contemporary data reporting systems that align with broader G4S requirements, while co-managing critical Business Continuity and Emergency Management Plans.
What we're looking for
We are looking for a resilient, data-literate professional who thrives in highly regulated environments and possesses the unique ability to influence teams. A strong passion for leading change and improvement is critical, and knowledge of Audits, Compliance, Quality & Risk will make for success in this role. You will be:
- A "Hybrid" Mindset: Comfortable operating at a high governance level and rolling up your sleeves at a practical "doing" level to draft procedures and build systems.
- Technical Data Literacy: Demonstrated experience utilising complex data reporting and management systems to extract and analyse operational performance data.
- Project & Plan Delivery: A proven track record of designing, mapping out, and executing end-to-end operational project plans in collaboration with frontline staff.
- Interpersonal Skill & Resilience: Exceptional communication skills with a strong, energetic nature capable of driving change and delivering constructive daily support within fluid team environments.
