About The Role

G4S Security Services Cameroon PLC, a global leader in Security  services, is seeking a highly skilled Financial Controller to oversee and manage their accounting and financial reporting functions. This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Finance Director, with responsibility for maintaining financial systems, ensuring compliance with the legislation, the Group Finance Controls (GFC) , and leading an accounting team of about 16 full-time employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the accounting and financial reporting functions.

  • Ensure accurate and timely financial information.

  • Maintain and develop internal control procedures to protect company assets.

  • Prepare and review budgets, financial projections, and monthly financial statements.

  • Coordinate the preparation and filing of the state, and international tax returns with  third-party firms.

  • Ensure compliance with any new accounting standards and emerging guidance.

  • Coordinate external financial statement audits and prepare requested documents.

  • Compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Manage the maintenance of fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.

  • Resolve accounting and financial management issues in collaboration with team members.

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate the direct reports.

  • Review general ledger reconciliations prepared by staff accountants.

  • Monitor and report job status activity and job profitability.

  • Maintain relationships with bankers, external accountants, and insurance agents.

  • Oversee payroll processing and benefit administration with a third-party service provider.

  • Assist with special projects and assignments related to financial decisions.

  • Serve as an informational resource for state Audits, and internal and external auditors.

  • Ensure compliance with local, state regulations.

  • Provide financial management support for projects as requested by Senior Management.

  • Offer financial advice and proactively prepare for future requirements.
