Overview of the role

As a professionally trained Security Officer for G4S, you could be a member of the security team responsible for securing premises, such as building sites, courts, shops, warehouses, banks and factories as well as ports and airports. You would be conducting foot or vehicle patrols, controlling access at points of entry, securing equipment and people, responding to emergency situations, monitoring CCTV and surveillance equipment and helping to identify and prevent criminal activity.

Female Events SIA Security Officer - Edgbaston Stadium

Birmingham is a key location for G4S Events, with year-round contracts at the city's high profile cricket ground. Edgbaston Stadium is a regular host of major domestic and international male and female cricket, and  is known across the globe for world-class cricket.  It is home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club and its T20 team Birmingham Bears.  

Edgbaston has also been the venue for Test matches, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. With permanent seating for approximately 25,000 spectators, it was the home of cricket for the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games, where it hosted the first women’s T20 event and this year they are playing host to Bears Women,Birmingham Phoenix Women, England vs India women.

Following our successful Women In Security recruitment campaign in 2024 and 2025, we now have further opportunities to enhance our female contingency for the forthcoming 2026 season at Edgbaston Stadium. This advert  is for female officers only to ensure G4S Events remain SIA compliant, when undertaking search duties on female staff and visitors.

We are looking to recruit additional female Event SIA Security Officers, to join our current team working at Edgbaston Stadium to ensure our matches and events run in a safe, secure way, ensuring that everyone has a first class experience.

The delivery team is responsible for conducting searches, monitoring crowds and responding to security incidents. You'll be working at matches with a high volume of visitors, so you'll need your experience as an SIA Door Supervisor licensed professional to identify situations before they happen and respond accordingly to those that do. Equally important is your ability to deliver a great customer experience to help create a unique atmosphere.

This is a varied role that will provide great memories: you could be deployed pitch-side, in one of the bustling stands, outside with the fans or helping to protect world famous players and staff. Friendly, professional and approachable, you'll use common sense to help people and ensure the events run smoothly.

Duties may include:

  • Carrying out pre and post event safety checks, ensuring compliance with safe working procedures

  • Searching female visitors on entry to venues

  • Ensuring that no prohibited or restricted items are taken into the secured zones within the venues

  • Monitoring visitors, crowd movements and behaviour to identify potential issues or incidents and to take appropriate action as necessary

  • Dealing with visitor/crowd disruptions

  • Securing licenced and hospitality areas
