About the role and team.
In this role, you will strengthen contract governance within G4S Government Services. You will translate complex agreements into clear obligations, oversee contractual performance and ensure changes to services are properly assessed, documented and approved.
This role will suit someone who enjoys interpreting contracts, resolving commercial issues and influencing business decisions. You will work with operational leaders, to protect G4S's contractual position, support reliable service delivery and maintain constructive relationships with our government clients.
In the role you will
- Interpret contractual obligations, rights and risk allocation, providing practical commercial guidance to operational teams and referring legal issues to our Legal team.
- Own the obligations register and governance calendar, including reporting deadlines, notice requirements, approvals and evidence of compliance.
- Manage variations and change control, including purchaser mandated changes.
- Assess scope, cost, resource and risk implications with Operations and Finance.
- Lead service level assurance by validating performance results and supporting evidence.
- Review potential abatements and contractual deductions against the agreement and available evidence, preparing substantiated commercial positions with Finance and Legal.
- Prepare client governance reports, contractual correspondence and recommendations for leadership.
- Maintain commercial risk registers and coordinate audit evidence, ensuring findings and recurring service issues lead to actions that are followed through to completion.
What we're looking for
- Proven experience interpreting, managing, and administering complex service agreements, ideally within government or regulated settings.
- The ability to pinpoint contractual obligations, assess commercial exposure, and translate complex legal/commercial analysis into practical recommendations.
- Experience managing variations, formal change control processes, and SLA/performance compliance.
- Strong drafting, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to write commercial correspondence and articulate complex matters to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Confident reviewing financial and operational data, testing assumptions, and balancing competing priorities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Tertiary qualifications in Law, Business Law, Commerce, or a related discipline are highly regarded.
Industry experience in outsourced services, infrastructure, facilities management, professional services, or government procurement will translate well.
A solid grounding in business law, contract law, or commercial management, with the practical judgment to apply it directly to live service delivery. Applicants from contract administration, procurement, legal, or commercial management backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
