About the role and team

We're looking for Mobile Speed Camera Operators to join the team in Fyshwick reporting to our Operations Manager and working closely with the control room team. We're seeking locals who are interested in road safety systems, work health and safety procedures and how to report road safety hazards.

Our Operators are skilled and trained to work alone in an enforcement vehicle that links to a control centre. It is a physical role with unusual hours and early and late starts, you'll work a 24/7 rotating roster including nights and weekends.

In the role you will:

• Fully adhere to all road rules and demonstrate safe driving behaviour at all times
• Perform a risk assessment of the site before each enforcement session and report sites that are unusable, taking photos when required
• Coordinate with the control room for camera set up and testing before session commencement
• Remain alert and attentive during an enforcement session, and maintain regular communications with the control room throughout the shift
• Adhere to standard operating procedures in responding to angry or aggressive behaviour
• Perform pre- and post-shift vehicle inspections

Pay rates:.

Casual:

Trainee Casual Mobile Speed Camera Operators are paid $35.15 an hour for ordinary hours, inclusive of 25% loading.

Your ordinary hourly rate will increase to the operator rate of $36.24 an hour once you pass the competency assessment (from the 3-6 months anniversary of employment).

**There are penalties for working overtime, night shift, weekends and public holidays for casual positions

• Full NSW driver's licence and a clean driving record - You must have held your Australian Licence for a minimum of three (3) years
• Comfortable being seated in a vehicle for extended periods
• Able to work alone for each shift (10-12 hours), drive long distances or to multiple locations in regional and remote areas
• Available to work a 24/7 rotating roster that includes weekdays, nights and weekends
