Overzicht van de rol

Als professioneel opgeleide beveiligingsmedewerker bij G4S kun je deel uitmaken van het beveiligingsteam dat verantwoordelijk is voor de beveiliging van locaties zoals bouwterreinen, rechtbanken, winkels, magazijnen, banken en fabrieken, maar ook havens en luchthavens. Je voert patrouilles uit te voet of met voertuigen, controleert de toegang bij ingangen, beveiligt apparatuur en personen, reageert op noodsituaties, bewaakt CCTV en bewakingsapparatuur en helpt bij het identificeren en voorkomen van criminele activiteiten.

Nabije Beveiliging/Lijfwachten

Wij nemen veel oud-militairen in dienst voor deze functies, omdat zij over zeer waardevolle en overdraagbare vaardigheden beschikken.

Stewards voor Muziek/Sportevenementen

Dit zijn functies die vaker op parttimebasis worden uitgevoerd, waardoor ze aantrekkelijk zijn voor studenten en mensen die geen fulltime baan kunnen vinden.

Role Overview

We are currently recruiting for Security Officers to join our team at the Port of Larne and you will be a key part of the team, assuring that the area is safe and secure at all times.

The position is varied and will require you to carry out the following duties:

Securing and patrolling restricted areas of the Port, and outlying buildings.
Working with the guidelines for the Department of Transport
Searching goods vehicles, passenger vehicles and foot passengers traveling on the P&O Ferries
Using metal detectors and x-ray screening equipment
Working with outside agencies to deter and detect criminality i.e. smuggling of people, animals or other offenses.
Ensuring all vehicles hold the correct paperwork and identification for travel.
Working as part of a Ship Escort team, accompanying trips between Larne and Cairnryan.

The role will require you to be flexible Monday to Sunday, to work a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern. This will also be covering day and night shifts.

The Ideal Candidate

You will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. A good IT knowledge is also key, You must be flexible and available to work on a varied shift pattern which will include days, nights and weekends. It would be a benefit to have from some security experience and your SIA licence, however it’s not essential, as we provide full SIA (Security Industry Authority) licence training.
