G4S Secure Solutions (USA) Inc., an Allied Universal® Company, is hiring a Facility Guard - Armed. The Armed Facility Guard is primarily responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment through effective access control, credential verification, and monitoring of entry and exit points. The Facility Guard is responsible for verifying credentials, managing and screening visitors, controlling access to authorized areas, and serving as a visible security presence to deter unauthorized access and other security concerns. Additional responsibilities include conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, enforcing applicable rules, policies, and procedures, and providing professional and courteous customer service while maintaining a high level of security awareness.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Control and monitor access to assigned facilities and authorized areas
• Verify employee, contractor, and visitor credentials prior to granting access
• Monitor entry and exit points to identify and prevent unauthorized access
• Manage visitor access in accordance with facility procedures and customer requirements
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unauthorized activity and security violations
• Conduct routine patrols of assigned areas and report unusual or suspicious activity
• Respond to emergencies, alarms, security incidents, and other situations in accordance with established procedures
• Enforce applicable facility rules, policies, procedures, and security requirements
• Maintain awareness of the surrounding environment and promptly report safety or security concerns
• Provide customer service while maintaining security and exercising sound judgment
• Complete required logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely

QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):

• High School Diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED)
• Must be United States citizen or legal permanent resident
• Ability to meet and maintain any applicable licensing, including driver’s license or certification requirements
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local law; G4S will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law
• Minimum of two (2) years driving experience
• Must possess one or more of the following:
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Law Enforcement Officer
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Military Police Officer
  • Minimum of one (1) year period of active-duty military experience (with a favorable discharge)
  • Minimum six (6) months of experience as a security officer engaged in functions related to civil or administrative correctional operations
• Minimum of one (1) year of general experience that demonstrates the following:
  • Ability to greet and deal tactfully with the general public
  • Capable of understanding, interpreting, and applying detailed oral and written orders, rules and regulations, and training instructions and materials
  • Ability to compose reports
  • Ability to maintain effective communications and control during extreme situations, such as fires, explosions, civil disturbances, and building evacuations
• Must be at least 21 years of age
• Effective oral and written communication skills; able to write informatively, clearly and accurately
• Active listening skills
• Ability to mediate conflict with tact, diplomacy
• Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):

• State-issued security licenses for armed and unarmed security personnel applicable to the assigned work location
• Fluency in multiple languages (reading, writing, and speaking)
• Possession of an active federal clearance
