Successful candidates will train to pass their C1 driving licence test and become a professional driver for G4S Cash Solutions. You will receive local professional training from our partner SP Training through the Urban Driver Apprenticeship model. You will receive a blended learning experience which will include on the job training, eLearning and Tutor led remote sessions.

Our Cash Management Solutions business has expertise in secure logistics and payment services including cash and valuables transportation, cash processing, ATM and cash centre outsourcing, secure storage and retrieval and merchant services.
 

As a Trainee Driver in our cash transportation team, you will be at the very heart of our operation. Your primary responsibility will be to securely deliver and collect cash to and from customer premises. It’s a highly regulated environment and you will need to be confident working to stringent procedures designed to ensure that our service remains superior and that our customer requirements are met with optimum efficiency.
 

Once trained, you will join a team of specialist Drivers and be responsible for making scheduled deliveries and collections, within specified time windows, ensuring all work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with your trip sheet. It’s important that you maintain good, safe and courteous driving behaviour and present a professional appearance by always wearing the company uniform and the relevant safety equipment provided.
 

So what makes a successful Driver and is this opportunity right for you?

These are new and exciting trainee vacancies which will lead into qualified Driver positions upon successful completion of the academy training. Perhaps you are looking for the chance to retrain and have always wanted to work as a Driver? Are you a van delivery driver keen to work with larger vehicles? These opportunities will suit people from all walks of life who are willing to learn and invest time in retraining. You will also need;
 

  • to hold a current standard driving licence with less than 6 points
  • to pass a medical assessment prior to appointment (which may include a medical assessment with an occupational health practitioner)
  • to be over 18 years of age
  • to be confident following specific procedures and instructions and be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • to be interested in committing to a formal training program which includes online learning/assessments as well as virtual online classroom sessions in addition to workplace training. It would be useful if you have a laptop or tablet to complete this but if you don’t, one will be be provided.
  • to have achieved a GCSE grade 3/D (or equivalent eg; level 1 Functional Skills) in Maths and English by the end of training. If you don’t already hold a D in these subjects, we can provide Functional Skills support to help you achieve an equivalent qualification (Level 1 Functional Skills)
     

We also have some specific security criteria that you will need to meet:

  • You must be able to pass a criminal record check as well as a personal credit and ID check.
  • You’ll need to provide 10-year employment/unemployment/educational history that we can check and verify.
  • You will need to be prepared to undergo airport style searches when entering and leaving our premises and be comfortable working within a secure and confined environment.
