CAD OPERATIVE
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum
Working Hours: Permanent, Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 8:30am and 5:30pm
Location: Churchill Hospital, Oxford, OX3 7LE
G4S Facilities Management we have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Operative to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis based at Churchill Hospital, Oxford.
We are looking for a dynamic and agile individual to provide essential support to the Assets, Lifecycle, and Projects Manager. This role requires close collaboration with client representatives to establish and maintain configuration control of all CAD design engineering drawings. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring all infrastructure drawings, records, and associated databases are current and accurate, as well as producing configured layouts and proposals necessary to support the contract and satisfy customer requirements
Core Responsibilities
1. Drawing Management and Configuration Control

Maintain Configuration Control: Provide configuration control for all CAD design engineering drawings.

Drawing Production & Amendment: Amend existing drawings, produce new M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) design drawings, and detail modifications to building structures, partitions, and ceilings for variation proposals and service level agreement (SLA) requirements.</p>

Documentation & Distribution: Provide site drawings to the Contract Management Team and the client’s intranet, and maintain the O&M (Operations & Maintenance) archive in line with contractual requirements.</p>
2. Space Planning and Design

Space Plan Development: Create building space plan proposals utilizing standard materials and adhering to all appropriate Health and Safety legislation.

Client Response: Respond to client building assets project portfolio requests, addressing space planning queries and highlighting potential issues.
3. Data Management and System Integration

Database Management: Manage, update, and control the Access record drawings database for building services and structures, ensuring a high standard of accuracy.

System Maintenance: Maintain the electronic system for site desk allocation under the direction of the Workspace Asset Manager/Contract Lead.

CAFM Coordination: Coordinate with the CAFM (Computer-Aided Facilities Management) team to incorporate plant and CAD changes within the system.
4. Auditing and Forecasting

Site Survey & Auditing: Carry out site surveys of building services to record changes from the base plan, and collaborate with teams to provide accurate building audit updates.</p>

Asset Recording: Record key life safety assets, including fire, muster points, and first aid assets, within building plans.

Forecasting & Compliance: Contribute to lifecycle forecasts and variation submissions, and ensure all RDS documentation is up-to-date and scheduled for review.</p>
Essential
-
Possesses a formal qualification demonstrating proficiency in AutoCAD.

Minimum of two (2) years of active, hands-on experience utilising AutoCAD LT in a professional environment.

IT literate with experience in core office productivity suites, preferably including Google Workspace

Minimum 2 years’ in the active use of AutoCAD LT.

Proven experience in preparing 3D modeling drawings and executing effective space planning layouts.

Proven experience in the practical application and execution of space management principles, including tracking, optimizing, and reconfiguring physical layouts.

HSE regulations awareness.
