The Role:
We are seeking Security Officers to support our Government client in the CBD. This is a dynamic, ad-hoc role offering flexibility. You will support our client during surge requirements on a sporadic basis as well as stepping in to provide coverage for employee absences.
Security Operations will run Monday through to Friday, with shifts commencing as early as 6:30am, with a minimum of 4 hour shifts provided. Ad hoc, night or weekend shifts may be required.
Key responsibilities include:
- Acting as the first point of contact, welcoming staff, visitors into the building with an approachable, friendly attitude.
- Managing controlled entrances, verifying ID cards, issuing authorisation passes, and checking scheduled visitor lists.
- Coordinating vehicle checks and site access approvals in the sallyport.
- Providing professional escorts for contractors/visitors and conducting routine internal building patrols to detect security risks.
- Maintaining highly accurate registers, tracking daily logs, and writing incident reports when faults or security issues arise.
What We Are Looking For:
- Current Victorian Security Licence (with Certificate II in Security Operations).
- Strong Availability, specifically Monday through Friday, with the flexibility to accept shifts at short notice.
- Current First Aid Certificate certification (or willingness to renew prior to commencement).
- Valid Working with Children Check Employee (or willingness to obtain).
- Control Room Accreditation (desired, not essential).
The Recruitment Process:

- Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to attend an on-site interview to meet the hiring manager.
- If successful after the interview, the G4S Talent Acquisition team will email you a series of items to complete and return: your ID and relevant qualifications, a national police check & a reference check form.
- You will also need to complete and pass a pre-employment medical assessment.
