Security Operations Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Security Operations Manager.  The job location is in Cambridgeshire and will be based in and around the Cambridge, Huntingdon and North Essex area.  You will be responsible for the effective management of a geographically dispersed portfolio of customer contracts and assignments across the operational area. 

We are looking for to be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and professional experience in the private security industry, preferably in manned guarding. Knowledge of G4S MI Systems and internal scheduling procedures is a distinct advantage.

• Track record of delivering exceptional customer service whilst maintaining security standards. 

• Experience of leading a team that is motivated and committed, identifying and addressing any potential issues at an early stage. 

• An ability to communicate at all levels and to build effective relationships 

• Proven ability to drive change that delivers positive benefits. 

• Security industry knowledge preferred, but not essential as applicants with extensive experience in facilities and/or hospitality industry will be considered. 

• Sound operational skills and commercial acumen are essential. 

• The ideal candidate will be able to deliver exceptional customer service, have excellent relationship building skills and be able to manage and develop employees. 

What you will be doing:

• Manage and retain allocated contracts and strive to achieve organic growth through a proactive approach to operator sales.

• Deliver income and margin expectations in line with budget and business targets.

• Support price increase negotiations in line with contract renewal dates within set timescales.

• Drive customer service delivery standards

• Maximise employee retention through role improvement opportunities, training, development and succession planning.

• Deliver the security service in a customer centric and cost effective manner.

• HR functions and employee management such as conducting grievance, disciplinary and investigation processes.

• Uniform & equipment procurement administration.

        What we require: 

• Minimum 5 x GCSEs or equivalent to include English Language & Mathematics

• Full UK Driving Licence

• Current frontline SIA Licence

• Knowledge of operation of office equipment, clerical and administrative

• procedures, principles and practices of office management

• Experience of multiple office technology and software applications
