G4S Employment Support Services (ESS) are looking to recruit within our dedicated team across the North West of England to deliver the RESTART employability programme on behalf of DWP.
The RESTART contract will support individuals into long term employment across the North West through our network of Suppliers and Stakeholders and we are looking to recruit a team of individuals, in a variety of roles, to ensure the success of that delivery.

About the Role
G4S ESS is hiring a seasoned Data Manager to lead their data warehouse operations and drive data architecture and management initiatives.
The role involves creating and managing advanced strategies to address data and ETL challenges, aligning with business goals, legal compliance, and growth needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and refine a Strategic Data Framework and architecture using best practices in data warehousing, ETL, and methodologies to deliver a single source of truth for the business.

Oversee compliance with data standards and policies, manage controls to mitigate data risks, and lead the Data team while ensuring adherence to data governance.

Build strong relationships with internal teams, clients, leadership, and Information Security to drive collaboration.
-
Lead data innovation, ensuring technology remains fit for purpose, minimizes technical debt, and supports both business-as-usual (BAU) agility and future opportunities.

Implement and maintain DevOps and CI/CD practices for effective in-life contractual delivery.

Manage and develop Business Intelligence and Data Analysts, ensuring alignment with business goals, fostering growth, and recording all project information to meet delivery and audit requirements.

Collaborate with the Head of Risk to enhance performance frameworks, monitor project progress, and maintain regulatory compliance, including GDPR.

Act as Deputy to the Head of Risk, identifying improvement areas, balancing long-term and agile deliverables, and ensuring operational excellence.

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert, promoting quality assurance, effective data governance, and continuous business improvement.

Effectively translate raw data into actionable insights and communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders.

Support Continuous Improvement Programs and ensure BI informs decision-making processes.

Conform to the Data Security Policy and assist with data-related risk management.
The Ideal Candidate:
Essential criteria:

Expertise in transforming disparate data sources into a warehouse model.

Proven experience in data governance with practical implementation of data management frameworks.

Strong leadership, communication, and commercial acumen.

Skilled in project management, innovation, and strategic problem-solving.

Proficient in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), BigQuery, Looker, Power BI, and other reporting tools.

Excellent written, visual presentation, and verbal communication skills.

Motivated, proactive, and accountable for performance and actions.
Desirable criteria:
-
Experience in Computer Science or Data Management.

Knowledge of Contact Centre Operations and data security.

Proficiency in Domo and cloud tools such as Cloud Composer, Data Fusion, Flow, Proc, Peek, and Analytics.
