About the role and team

The HR Business Partner is a key role within G4S. Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, you will partner with the G4S ANZ Leadership Team to deliver business-aligned, value-adding solutions across the complete employee lifecycle. This is a dynamic, fast-paced environment where you will work autonomously yet collaboratively within our teams to provide proactive support for strategic, operational, and growth initiatives.

Your focus will be on coaching and developing managers to build internal people capability in line with contemporary best practices. You will also handle a broad portfolio of responsibilities ranging from high-level culture and talent strategies down to pragmatic, everyday employee relations.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Partnering with business leaders to design and deliver the HR agenda at both a strategic and operational level to achieve talent, performance, capability, and cultural goals.
  • Coaching and developing people managers across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, ensuring they can confidently attract, engage, develop, and retain talent.
  • Providing expert advice, training, and guidance on corporate policies, internal procedures, employment legislation, and best practices to internal stakeholders.
  • Leading the annual HR cycle for talent assessments, performance planning, and remuneration reviews.
  • Managing or supporting critical HR projects across workforce planning, succession planning, risk management, and organizational change.
  • Ensuring project-associated change is seamlessly integrated, facilitating smooth staff transitions and mitigating legal or compliance risks.
  • Actively participating in growth activities, including providing key people and culture inputs for business bid submissions.
  • Completing regular monthly and ad-hoc reporting, tracking HR metrics via data, analytics, and systems.
  • Complying with the G4S Safety Golden Rules and ensuring health, safety, and environment policies are adhered to across the scope of work.

What we're looking for

  • Proven generalist experience (minimum 5-8 years) in a dynamic environment, demonstrating depth across the breadth of HR functions, including industrial relations.
  • A degree in Human Resources or a relevant business discipline.
  • Solid hands-on experience developing and delivering practical HR programs and solutions in direct partnership with senior business management.
  • Proactive and adaptable - ability to be adaptable and agile when working through challenging situations.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills with a strong capacity to influence, respectfully challenge, and bring a different perspective to leadership tables.
  • Solid expertise in WHS legislation, practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • A continuous improvement mindset backed by strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations calmly.
  • High professional integrity and personal accountability, ability to build trust and credibility with stakeholders quickly.
