External Distribution Team Scheduler

Salary: £35,521.48 per annum

Working Hours: Permanent, Full time position, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Location: Cheltenham

Excellent benefits package including 2.5% Golden Hello payment on commencement of employment and a £2,000 annual retention bonus (pro-rata for part time employees), subject to achieving and maintaining clearance requirements.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organised, detail-oriented, and motivated EDT Scheduler to join our Facilities Management team in Cheltenham. In this role, you will be responsible for the daily coordination and scheduling of a mixed vehicle fleet to meet client operational requirements.

You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with transport regulations, optimising routes, and supporting the Transport Manager in delivering a safe, efficient, and high-performing service. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong planning skills and a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule the vehicle fleet daily to ensure delivery of client goods in line with SLAs
  • Produce daily and weekly driver rotas in compliance with transport regulations
  • Maintain accurate vehicle fleet and staff records
  • Analyse scheduling data to optimise routes and reduce travel costs
  • Ensure full compliance with Operator Licence (O Licence) regulations
  • Support fleet maintenance to ensure high levels of operational availability
  • Assist with performance, quality, and safety audits
  • Produce weekly and monthly performance reports, identifying areas for improvement
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to meet KPIs and SLAs
  • Promote sustainability initiatives and support environmental targets

Essential:

  • Experience in scheduling and planning (including multi-drop loads)
  • Knowledge of transport regulations
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • IT literate (Google and Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Flexible, proactive approach with a strong attention to detail
