Deposita is a leading cash & payment solutions company. Our globally-implemented cash management, payment, e-payment, and self-service technologies reduce the risks associated with handling money business, currently has a vacancy for a Portfolio Manager based at our office in Midrand, Gauteng and reporting to the Managing Director.

The successful incumbent is a self-starter with a proven track record in maintaining company policy, adopting best practices, and is able to exercise sound judgement in the pursuit of the achievement of the goals of the organisation, and understanding the role which the Portfolio Manager plays within a successful business unit. The incumbent will be expected to be results driven and to live the values of the organisation.

Main Purpose of Position

Responsible for driving the approved sales strategy, ensuring the retention, growth and development of Deposita’s portfolio across a defined geographical region. This would include the achievement of defined revenue targets and the growth of the business as well as project management and the leading and negotiating contracts on optimal commercial/risk terms.

Key Performance Areas

Effective, targeted Business Growth

  • Ensure key pipeline management activities are in place and monitored on a monthly basis

  • Prepare and follow a call plan that ensures maximum exploitation of new and additional business opportunities in the market.

  • Prepare and submit accurate proposals and quotations timeously to existing and prospective clients

  • Identification of potential new business opportunities through consultation and cooperation with operational management, planned prospecting, leads, cold calling, tender notices.

  • Arrange and conduct meetings with new and existing business prospects, in conjunction with management where appropriate, to market Depositas solutions.

  • In consultation with the Financial Manager, ensure that annual contract pricing escalations of existing customers are finalized and effected on the billing.

  • Conduct renewal of contract negotiations and complete negotiations to approved targets within agreed times frames

 

Management and development of Customer Focus

  • Ensure appropriate customer measures and KPIs are maintained at business level

  • Ensure customer engagement through awareness events

  • The development of high level relationships and account management with existing and potential major customers

  • Assist and support with recons and billing issues

  • Assist and support with service delivery issues

 

Portfolio Management & Team Leadership

  • Management of allocated sales team to achieve portfolio targets

  • Ensure key pipeline management activities are in place and monitored on a monthly basis

  • Team coaching and development

  • Ensure compliance through the sales process through to contract signature including FICA & KYC requirements

  • Manage processes and billing between customers and the business

  • Co-ordinate and or assist in Site and / Security Risk Survey for each potential customer as part of the Sales process to ensure that risks associated with the service are identified and wherever possible, reduced from the outset

  • Ensure effective management of company policies and procedures.

 

Development and manage Sales Model

  • Manages and coordinates multiple role players and create structures and mechanisms to manage the role player matrix 

  • Staff training plan with milestones for periodic measurement

  • Good control and measurement over staff efficiency, effectiveness at all levels of the sales process: marketing, Lead, Present, Pricing, closing, handover

  • Partnership network management and control

  • Shows, roadshow & direct client approach schedules and procedure control 

  • Target market segments and clients for direct approach

  • Account management process - Implement and measure

  • Manage margin on proposals and implement strategy to maximize this

 

Health and Safety

  • Participate in the design/ development/ review/ implementation and monitoring of the branch/region/national safety plans for each year.

  • Participate in safety forums created by company for example safety meetings and safety talks

  • Report all safety incidents to the relevant people

  • Discuss all safety incidents on all levels

  • Follow-up on any activities assigned through safety meeting /committee /representative /management

  • Attend safety education and refresher programmes

  • Comply with safety policies and procedures at workplace

  • Distribute safety information as and when required

  • Wear protective clothing all the time

 

Information Security

  • Comply with all Information Security policies, procedures, and training requirements.

  • Immediately report any suspected or confirmed information security incidents.

  • Protect company data and confidential information from unauthorised access or disclosure.

  • Use company systems, email, and devices responsibly, avoiding suspicious links or unauthorised software.

  • Adhere to secure document handling, storage, and disposal practices at all times

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Grade 12/ Matric Equivalent

  • A relevant Tertiary Qualification with a preference in the Business Development /Management or Commercial field advantageous 

  • Experience in the development of business with and negotiation of large bids and tenders with Multinational Companies and Governments.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar position essential with people management

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving business growth.

  • Valid driver’s licence and own transport essential (to undertake business travel within South Africa as needed)

Package Description

Remuneration and benefits will be commensurate with the seniority of the role and in compliance with company remuneration policy and practice.
