IT Network Engineer (Fixed-Term)
Location: UK Wide Inc Travel | Salary: £36,000 | Posted: 5 Nov 2024 | Closes: 1 Dec 2024 | Reference: Job Req ID 2760 | Business Unit: ITAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Network Engineer to be a part of a Global Network team on a fixed-term basis for up to 5 months; providing network support, design and implementation for the world’s largest security company across 85 different countries. This position will be primarily deployed to one of our key contracts and responsible for supporting them for any projects and incidents that arise.

The main responsibilities of the Network Engineer are:
- Responsible for delivering project by designing and implementing highly scalable, reliable networks in an environment where downtime has a critical impact on the business’ finances.
- Proactively improve the network stability, redundancy and security.
- Ownership of Design Building Blocks to assist in the development of the network.
- Produce in-depth technical design diagrams and documents that assist with knowledge transfer.
- Investigate and troubleshoot service requests and incidents that are raised and ensure these are resolved within SLA.
- Contribute to the team development.
- Participate on the on-call rota system (1 week on, 2 weeks off).

Essential:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Understanding of Layer 2 Switching and Layer 3 IP Routing.
- Experience with Fortinet Firewalls.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP Networking.
- Hard-working, well-motivated and a proven ability to learn.
Desirable:
- CCNP Routing & Switching Qualification (CCNP).
Key Competencies:
- Proven ability to learn, determined and ambitious.
- Positive attitude towards completing tasks.
- Solid communication skills – both written and verbal.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. These documents may include your passport, driver’s license, utility bill (dated in the last 3 months), HMRC letter, original bank statements, an original payslip, your birth certificate, or a valid share code.
Please note that this role requires SC clearance which means you must have lived in the UK consecutively for the last 5 years. The role does not qualify for a visa under the current Government guidelines therefore to be considered for this role you must already have the right to work in the UK. Relocation costs will not be granted. You must live within reasonable commuting distance of the site.
