Permanent - Full Time (39 hours per week)

Within Care and Rehabilitation Services, the philosophy of our prisons is to rehabilitate offenders and equip them to re-integrate into mainstream society on release. We seek to normalise prison conditions as far as possible to reflect life in the outside community. Our aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe and causes of prison stress are minimised. Central to our philosophy is the relationship between staff and prisoners. Our training and operational practices emphasise the need to treat prisoners with dignity and respect and G4S staff build positive and supportive relationships with the prisoners in their care. 

 

HMP Rye Hill is a category 'B' training prison situated in the village of Willoughby, near Rugby in Warwickshire, holding approximately 664 sentenced male adults.

 

We now have an opportunity for a Deployment Officer to join our team at HMP Rye Hill.  The successful candidate will support the centralised roster function and ensure that the operational needs of the prison are achieved through the efficient utilisation of operational staff. They will also support the Security Team to maintain the security of the prison following all security procedures, including security instructions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Profile resource requirements and build rosters to ensure all operational staff resources are effectively deployed.
  • Oversee the use of the Kronos system to ensure accurate records are maintained and it is used efficiently and effectively throughout the prison.
  • Implement and oversee the deployment of staff to planned training activity in accordance with the Training Plan to meet contractual requirements.
  • Assist in the promotion of creating a positive Health & Safety culture to achieve and maintain recognition as a British Safety Council 5 Star business unit.
  • Ensure the maintenance of security within the prison environment by compliance with security instructions.
  • Search Vehicles, Occupants of Vehicles, Visitors and their property on access or egress through the prison lock, using Technical Aids, to ensure the Security of the Prison is maintained.
  • Participate with ‘Internal’ and ‘External’ Vehicle Escorts and Patrols where necessary, wearing the correct High Visibility PPE ensuring compliance with Contractual Requirements.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV Cameras (including Visits CCTV), and Radio Network in line with relevant procedures to maintain Prison Security.

You must have experience of administration skills and a can do attitude, along with an attention to detail. You will work collaboratively and openly whilst being a key member of the team.
