Role Responsibility:

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We have an opportunity for a Water Technician to join our team based in Cheltenham.

As Water Technician, you will work within the site based team delivering predominantly water hygiene planned and reactive maintenance activities, as well as other related maintenance activities, working to a high standard and complying with all health and safety, company and site rules.

This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

 

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking domestic water hygiene activities including temperature monitoring, flushing, microbiological sampling and chemical analysis, chemical dosing and sterilisation, calorifier and softener maintenance, water tank inspection and cleaning, humidifier/air con and air handling unit maintenance, irrigation system maintenance, shower de-scaling and sterilisation, TRV maintenance, closed system maintenance and other water hygiene related activities.
  • Undertaking cooling tower water hygiene activities including but not limited to: microbiological sampling and chemical analysis, chemical dosing and sterilisation, cooling tower cleaning, RO plant maintenance, softener maintenance and replenishment, chemical monitoring and replenishment, water tank inspection and cleaning, cooling tower inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring compliance to the water hygiene scheme of precautions.
  • Completing all water hygiene documentation and log books to ensure there is an audit trail to demonstrate compliance.
  • Understand and implement, where necessary, all water hygiene escalation and equipment operating procedures in the event of an out of parameter results, elevated bacterial count or maintenance activity.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), inspection and test testing tasks.
  • Use the Building management System to analyses system operating conditions and fault analysis.
  • Possess and apply a good understanding of health and safety regulations including COSHH risk assessments.


The Ideal Candidate:

To be successful for this role, you will have an accurate and methodical mind-set, as well as good written and verbal communication skills and experience of working within a Hard FM environment.

It would also be desirable that you hold a City & Guilds Water Hygiene qualification, have Legionella awareness and have experience in in operating and maintaining cooling towers, RO plant, water tanks, calorifiers and softening plant.
