Role Responsibility:

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We are actively seeking to recruit a Water Technician to join our team on our Churchill Hospital contract to be based in Oxford, OX3 7LJ.  The hours of work are 40 per week, Monday to Friday,covering various shifts. 

 

 

Job Summary:

As Water Technician, you will carry out planned and preventative maintenance and undertake minor repairs to the water systems at the Churchill Hospital Oxford.

 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Operate within planned maintenance procedures effectively and safely.
  • To undertake all maintenance and repairs of the Hospitals domestic water systems in accordance with HTM-04, HSG 274 and the L8 ACOP legislation.
  • Deal effectively and safely with breakdowns and damage to assets.
  • Write up maintenance reports and technical procedures for Building Maintenance Activities.
  • To undertake works in a medical environment, ensuring utmost attention to the well-being of all occupants of the building.
  • Follow detailed drawings and operational maintenance manuals in order to carry out all planned maintenance, routine inspections and reactive repairs.
  • Assisting in the development of maintenance routines, procedures, risk assessments, preparing and maintaining relevant technical records.
  • To observe statutory and other relevant requirements at all times, in particular those relating to the Health & Safety at Work Act, COSHH regulations and Electrical IEE regulations.
  • Working with other craft qualified, semi-skilled and non-skilled maintenance staff to develop cross-skilling and cover all levels and aspects of maintenance activities on a team work basis.
  • Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.
  • Carry out maintenance activities to assist in project and improvement development works, offering alternatives to improve the effectiveness of the operation of the site.


The Ideal Candidate:

To be successful for this role you will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong ICT skills, including the use of databases and the ability to problem solve.

A full Driving Licence would also be desired.
