Responsibilities include assisting in the day to day management of security officer operations, the development, implementation, and oversight of initial and continued education training of all security officers, assisting the Project Manager with security officer development, ensuring security officer compliance with post orders, policies / procedures and meeting all monthly, quarterly and annual training, and completing projects as requested by the Project Manager.  The Training Specialist will manage the training program for all sites across the client account.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Lead and manage the training program across all sites
  • New Hire training to contract standards
  • Monthly training of employees to contract standards
  • Assistance with Policy / Procedure review and management
  • Assistance with daily officer operations


The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all necessary state or federal licensing requirements
  • Must be able to to obtain and maintain additional training certifications as requested by the client
  • Must possess, or be able to obtain, CPR/AHA certification.

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Must possess a minimum of four (4) years of experience in conducting training in a security environment
  • Must possess experience in instruction and evaluation
  • Must possess an Associate degree (or 60 credits) or higher in law enforcement, criminal justice, or occupational safety with current or prior active military service
  • Must have one or more of the following:
    • Service in Military Occupational Specialty related to law enforcement, security (such as Military Police, Elite Military Forces, combat arms) or any support role in a Combat Zone
    • Graduate of a Certified Public Safety Academy (military or civilian) in the law enforcement, adult corrections, or firefighter field
    • Bachelor’s degree in law enforcement or criminal justice related studies
    • A minimum of 8 or more years of active service in any military branch

  • Ability to assess and evaluate situations effectively
  • Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

  • Must be at least 18 years old or the minimum age required by the state, if higher
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States
  • Must possess excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Must possess proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to multi-task in an environment with little to no direct supervision
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability to interact cordially and communicate with the public
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable
  • Must be able to provide, upon job offer, a DD214 discharge document with discharge status indicated, if prior military

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:    Office with minimal work in extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:    Working on PC, sitting, standing and walking 

Physical efforts to carry out job duties:  Standing, walking, sitting, with minimal and kneeling
