The world's leading private security organization, G4S, has an immediate job opportunity for a Global Security Operations Center Supervisor.  The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) Supervisor is responsible for the execution of day to day GSOC operations and has direct oversight of the technician group assigned to the center. The Supervisor will ensure the proficient monitoring of and response to various alarm, access control and emergency notification systems for many of the client’s facilities globally and will also ensure actions consistent with documented policies and procedures are adhered to by the technician staff. The GSOC Supervisor will also be responsible for staff scheduling, training and disciplinary items. This position works under limited supervision, requires excellent multi-tasking skills and a high degree of successful decision making during stressful situations.   Responses to global and 911 emergency calls will be managed by the GSOC Technicians and the Supervisor may direct the process during these incidents.

Role Responsibility:

Specific Duties and Essential Functions

  • Oversee the GSOC response to alarms and security related incidents at the campus and all field offices
  • Ensure the proper monitoring of security access control systems, alarm systems, CCTV and other control programs and systems that protect company employees, contractors, visitors and assets
  • Ensure the proper monitoring of local and global events that may impact the client’s operations and employees
  • Oversee the operation of security communications systems (radio, cell phones, computer network, and telephone) and security systems
  • Ensure proficient and timely coordination of daily, weekly and monthly preventative maintenance testing to ensure device functionality
  • Ensure that GSOC Technicians properly coordinate activities of mounted and dismounted patrol as prescribed by procedure and special assignment instructions
  • Monitor GSOC Center / Staff activities in order to provide feedback and support to the G4S Operations Manager and the client’s Security Operations Manager as needed
  • Monitor the weather events that may have an impact on the client’s employees and facilities
  • Maintain GSOC shift operations, document staff related issues, and be the supervisory point of contact for all GSOC Technicians
  • Ensure GSOC staff training requirements are met and maintained
  • Complete and review incident reports as required
  • Provide initial diagnosis, troubleshooting and repair of basic hardware/software and system related issues with security systems using problem solving skills, job knowledge and experience
  • Provide superior customer service to ensure customer needs are understood and met; refer unresolved requests for assistance to other Corporate Security staff for follow up/resolution

The Ideal Candidate:

Education, Licenses and Certifications Required

  • Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Specialized training in one of the following: security, ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification, fire protection, military police, law enforcement 

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Four years of experience in a security Control Center environment of similar size and complexity
  • Work history demonstrating each of the following:
    • Windows based access control/alarm monitoring systems (Andover Continuum preferred)
    • CCTV digital video recording equipment (Exacq digital systems preferred), portable radios and multi-line telephone systems
    • Elevator intercom systems and building paging systems
    • Solid comprehension and working knowledge of Microsoft Windows based operating systems
    • Ability to work in a highly technical environment where PC based security, life safety and facility related software applications, databases and hardware are used and maintained to protect the company’s human, intellectual and physical assets
    • Demonstrated interpersonal skills in employee supervision, possess the ability to effectively motive others and passion for leading within in a team based environment
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under stressful circumstances, successfully prioritize actions, and adhere to established company policies, procedures and standards ensuring an effective response to security incidents and emergencies
    • Ability to remains calm and focused during incident response and coordination
    • Use of effective listening skills to ensure pertinent security incident facts are gathered and documented
    • Use of clear, concise and effective communications to articulate incident facts to appropriate personnel for review and follow up
    • Ability to develop and maintain partnerships across the department and lines of business; work collaboratively with others in the group to ensure individual and group objectives are achieved; and exhibit objectivity and allow others to share their opinions while maintaining a positive attitude
    • Ability to adapt to changes in work conditions for extended time periods and overtime in close proximity with other employees; working all shifts and days of the week including holidays to ensure operational needs are met in the case of emergencies and special projects

Physical Requirements and Environment

Environment:         Office; minimal to no work in extreme temperatures is expected

Major activity:        Working on PC while sitting; telephone use
