Job Introduction:

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy and dynamic Finance Team in Worksop within our Accounts Receivable Section as a Strategic Credit Controller.  The role of the Strategic Credit Controller is to ensure G4S outstanding debt is minimised and risks identified and escalated and resolved in a timely manner on Key Strategic customers. In addition provide guidance to processes, and on-going training to the rest of the Credit Control teams.

The successful candidate will be required to provide original documentation for detailed screening and vetting processes. These documents may include your passport, drivers license, utility bill (dated in the last 3 months), HMRC letter, an original bank statement, an original payslip, your birth certificate, a valid share code.


Role Responsibility:

The Main Responsibilities of the Strategic Credit Controller are:

  • Chasing customer payments in line with G4S payment terms to minimise bad debt on Key Strategic customers.

  • Handling of all tier 2 interactions received into Credit Control ensuring all requests are completed and successfully resolved within the agreed service level. 

  • Look for process improvement opportunity for FSSC service delivery

  • Work to daily outbound phone targets set by team leader

  • Work to individual and Business Unit Overdue Debt reduction targets and Cash Collection

  • Work on customer disputes to help minimise outstanding G4S debt and escalate to the appropriate Business owners

  • Creating and categorising outbound service requests.

  • Drive weekly debt calls with Finanace Business Partners and Directors on a weekly basis ensuring that any area of risk is flagged in a timely manner.

  • Deliver induction and on-going training for all staff in the Credit Control teams.

  • Be a first point of escalation for team members on the issues that do not fall within standard process or guidance

  • Dealing with escalated invoice queries and implementing payment plans 

  • Assist the Team Leader with input into the Monthly Cash Collection forecasting based on account and Business knowledge.

  • Assist the Team Leader with providing monthly reporting to the team and BU’s on Cash, Overdue debt position, SLA’s, Targets or KPI’s.

  • Actively promote equality, diversity and inclusion with the Credit Control & Billing team and lead the team in a manner consistent with G4S principles


The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for the role of Strategic Credit Controller will have the following skills and experience:

Technical 

  • Strong skills in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint 

  • Numerate and Literate.

  • An understanding of SAP and/or other Finance systems.

 

Experience

  • A good understanding of accounting systems and the interactions of ledgers within Accounts Receivable. 

  • Experience of dealing with problems relating to the management of debt such as non-payment of customer invoices requiring legal recourse.

  • Experience in managing complex customer credit portfolio is desirable.

  • Experience of developing and coaching team members to maximise potential.

  • Experience of working in a busy Customer Service/Finance environment.

  • Team Player must be willing to help, support and encourage colleagues

  • Good time management skills to ensure own and team targets are prioritised.

  • Ability to keep calm under pressure

 

 

Please note, this role does not qualify for a visa under the current Government guidelines therefore to be considered for this role you must already have the right to work in the UK. Re-location costs will not be granted. You must live in reasonable commuting distance of the site.
